Trevor Mallard has been widely suggested as a likely senior MP to have had a hand in this, and there have been calls for David Shearer to take strong action to deal with it.
But what if Shearer’s hand is also on the hatchet?
If Shearer doesn’t take open and decisive action to deal with this it will show him up as either complicit or ineffective.
