Beware the chides of March

The leaders speak today.Yay, oh yay.

It’s a political challenge from John Key, playing for media coverage and comparison.

It’s a big one for David Shearer. His first big one. Isn’t it?

It’s early days in his role as Labour leader but with an orchestrated build up of appearances there is an expectaton that Shearer gives some indication that he can rejuvenate and get his party behind him, and come across as a credible option for a future government.

If he stumbles – and is let down by his support and advisers as he was when releasing policy earlier this week – then the chides may chunder his chances,  from his own.
