Camp Cunliffe and evidence double standard

Claims continue that Cunliffe was innocent of any wrongdoing. This comment from ‘Saarbo’ at The Standard is typical.

As the dust settles from the Conference it is abundantly clear that Cunliffe/”Team Cunliffe” did not have any plot to carry out a coup. No evidence exists.

Hooten, Garner, Gower, etc were fed information, not by the so called “Team Cunliffe” but by the ABC Brigade. The media were played like a fish and the victim is Labour and David Cunliffe.

Saarbo is correct, there is no evidence of a Cunliffe coup plot. There haven’t actually been many claims that there was a plot. It was most likely just a political misadventure clumsily fueled by Cunliffe’s behaviour and clumsily handled by Shearer.

But no more evidence that information was fed by the ‘ABC brigade’ has been provided, just claims.

There have also been claims of ABC plots, media plots and right wing plots against Cunliffe, all absent any evidence.

The obvious reality is that both Cunliffe and Shearer camps fed the media and blogosphere information and misinformation.

Maladroit maneuvering malfunctioned, making mayhem.
