Prentice admits “fighting dirty politics”

In what appears to be a case of blatantly ignoring a High Court interim injunction Lynn Prentice has also stated that this is a way of fighting dirty politics without his hands tied.

Likely. As I have no idea who it is, So to conform to the reported suppression, I will just limit people saying explicitly which minister it is.

I also note that there has been nothing reported about the alleged victims seeking suppression.

Mind you, after the questions on how Carmel’s mothers name got into media, I am only inclined to follow the letter of suppression orders when it comes to the politically associated.

If it is good enough for Paula Bennett to play games with the courts and relatives, then I can’t be bothered fighting dirty politics with my hands tied….

So this an all out dirty war? Prentice may claim to be fighting against dirty politics but this looks just about as dirty as anything.

He could understandably be agitated by Rachinger’s ‘paid to hack The Standard’ claim but I think he’s taking a big risk here. He may follow Cameron Slater’s example of court trouble through breaching suppression just to be vindictive – another Slater trait shared.

(I have seen claims that Bennett may have fed a story to the media but I haven’t seen any evidence of it).

You’d wonder whether if Slater has asked Rachinger to hack into thestandard and the police have investigated his story, then this may be why Slater’s complaints are going nowhere.

It’s been a long time since Slater laid his police complaints and he’s not denied Rachinger’s claims. Weird to me as a denial if untrue ( despite his stance of explaining is losing) or an admission if true along the lines of “I was very pissed with the Hager crew, have proof of thestandard’s collusion in the hacking and dissemination and toyed with revenge”.
I’d understand that. I’m not sure about the timeframe – is anyone here?
It’s ironic that though none of the Dirty Politics mud stuck to Key, Slater is now almost universally disliked through NZ. Also strange is nobody admits to reading his blog or they claim to have long ditched it, so I’d love to know why WOBH stats are so high.

I note that there has not been one of the self congratulating end of months posts this month. I suspect that is because the stats have plummeted.

@Spongie. This is the end of the line for Slater and Belt and their co-horts 🙂

You might be right. The would be hacker has put Slater in the frame for conspiring to hack and possibly paying for that hack. That’s not going to make Slater a victim to police. It also makes a mockery of him going to cops about those who hacked him. Not looking good for him at all. A lot of what BR says about guns and gangs is hearsay and it seems he’s pointing to a connection to the Blomfield assault but his accusations can’t be verified as I see it.

This blogger has written a considered post on it if anyone is interested. https://ellipsister.wordpress.com

Blomfield was attacked by a Mongerl Mob prospet – who we all suspect is still in prison awaiting trial. That said the story reported in the NBR and other media seemed to be a little far fetched with Blomfield claiming he ran at the offender who was armed. Fight or flight. Hmm. I think in time we will find out that Blomfield is a fantasist and he may have even set this up for a bigger game. Collusion with ex cops, bloggers and wasting the Courts time

Blomfield is a vexatious litigant. He thinks he’s a good lay litigant but all he does is look like a fool. If you look at the Blomfield case its dragged on for 3 years and Blomfield has got nowhere – except run off to people like the The Standard and bleat about how poorly he’s been treated – how come Blomfield has not sued Lauda Finem??? They absolutely savaged him. After all he believes he knows the owner!! How come after the liquidator of Plan Z Investments Limited proved Blomfield had stolen money, yet i don’t see Blomfield suing the NZ Herald despite him saying the story was false and he never took money. My prediction – Blomfield to jail for 6 – 8 years, and all those that were enabling his carry on will be left covered in BlomDump

  3. I can’t see any reason to go beyond what the law actually states on suppression orders. In this case the suppression order appears to state that the brother and his Cabinet Minster brother cannot be named. It does not state that there cannot be speculation to eliminate Cabinet Ministers.

If your legendary legal skills say differently, then lay a complaint, but I suspect that you are just lying as usual.

This is an interesting point that I’ve wondered about. If the judge allows enough information be released to allow people to identify the accused (and MP in this case) then the suppression order is rather pointless. But does that allow one to eliminate all other possibilities effectively naming the accused or not. Maybe it will require someone to be charged to settle this issue. I’m not game to risk being the test case but quite happy for others to take that role.

In any case, I eagerly await the press announcing shortly that “a 53 year old male prime minister has been granted name suppression…..”.
