Rachinger public apology

Ben Rachinger has been pressed to at least apologise for sending pictures of a journalist that ended up being published by Lauda Finem.

He responded on this on Your NZ yesterday:

I’ve already acknowledged to JW as much as I can say. I don’t see that relitigating it in public for white knights helps her. She can raise the issue in public as she sees fit.

Insofar as Slater received the pictures and forwarded them to Lauda Finem?

That’s a whole basket of can’t comment. For obvious and very good reasons. A lot of people have been up to some very dodgy stuff. In some cases, criminal.

What I’m supposed to have done is unethical but not illegal. What Slater has allegedly done?

That’s definitely criminal 🙂

Thanks

This morning in what appear to be authentic tweets:

Unconditionally apologise to for sending pictures to who then sent them to . Worst thing I’ve ever done

I have no excuses for what is extremely shithouse and immoral behaviour. I can only make amends by writing and by taking Slater down.

Would like to say that my ex had no knowledge of any of pics. She’s her own person. We don’t speak anymore. Onwards to literary infamy! 🙂

Ben has said he is writing a book.

He can confirm if these tweets are from him but to me it looks authentic.

Morning Pete… if you really want to get stuck into WO you need to ask Ben about the [not sufficiently backed up so removing – PG] … its gets so much dirtier, you have only scratched the surface…

    • I’m aware the surface has been barely scratched. Playing them at their own games, except in contrast using facts.

Serious accusations need to be backed by solid evidence.

Not meaning to step on anyone’s feet but I’d be cautious about allowing Ben C’s comment to stay. Implied statements can also be defamatory if they are not true.

The biggest problem for Ben (other than sharing intimate pics) is that through the process of swindling the mouth breathing chump Slater he has become infected with a particularly nasty strain of deludus fantasticus slaterosis. Sufferers tend to be susceptible to believing all the big noting boasting that spews forth from Slater.
    The labour “insiders”
    The gang connections
    The photographic memory SNORT
    The “funders”
The retold anecdotes that are either fictitious or “borrowed”
The close relationship with John Key.. THE MOST DAMAGING IN MY OPINION AND COMPLETELY UNTRUE.
Any normal person who has spent more than a few hours with Slater soon realised he is a complete loon and a champion bullshitter.
This is why he has been cut off by the brains trust and now surrounds himself with dregs. Nobody else will tolerate him.

Look forward to your “dump” this afternoon Loki.

Cameron Slater is connected to the HeadHunters in more ways than one. That is demonstrably provable, in his own words and also the words of a senior gang member. So you’re wrong.

Slater has gone very soft on Stuart Nash. Nash who had a paid job done for him by Lusk, who Slater chums with on the regular. So you’re wrong again.

Photographic memory, who knows. No comment.

Funders. It’s been proven he’s received money through his ‘Social Media Co’ slush fund from a variety of sources. Lentino gave him money. Lusk gave him money. Honnor gave him money. Others gave him money. So, yet again, you’re wrong.

Slater is the one who told Key that Rawshark is RK, is he not? Or was it Patrick Gower? Who knows. There was a clear texting relationship with Slater. Do you text the PM? I’ve been invited to drinks with him and Brownwyn through my YN membership but I certainly never got to text him. Just get followed by John Key on Twitter. So, again, you’re wrong.

You say that “any normal person who spends time with Slater” would work out he’s a loon? Is that why Slater has been used, abused and discarded by the DP operators and the National Party where Ede has been protected to the death?

Say what you like about Slater. Hack procurer. Fantasist. Hate merchant. But that dude has been so loyal to the same people who have thrown him under the bus. I can’t understand it myself but everyone has a change of heart sometimes. Turning Slater against the machine that you’re blatantly spinning for, Loki, would be a great thing.

I don’t understand why you lie and prevaricate. Slaters been given enough of a public hiding. What about everyone else involved and the journos (that you leave out EVERY SINGLE TIME)?

Something smells fishy. Then again, you did choose a most appropriate username Loki

      😉

As he has himself noted, politics is a dirty, nasty game. Just a shame when you’re sucking hind tit at that game.

Slater is dumber than a sack of hammers. He begged and pleaded for info for his blog on the assumption he would later be recompensed by the National Party machine. When Kevin Taylor said “no” (and this is in Hager’s book) Slater went feral and destructive. The sort of business model where you do something for nothing with no discussion at the time of payment then hold the information over the other person for life has a simple title – blackmail or extortion.

It’s ridiculous to suggest Jason Ede was protected.
He now works as a bargain basement cost Comms consultant for a very small Telco operator.
        Hardly #winning.

      • So Ben – you mentioned the other day the Media people involved with WOBH who Hager decided not to out, which I think you described as Hager acting as God. I believe iirc Hager described it was give them a chance to reform, which to me sounds more like holding a card back to win a trick later…

Care to elaborate on who those media people where? Surely in the best interests of transparency they should be named….

PS on the Ms Williams thing – nice to own it. Leaves me with other questions but I won’t ask those as the questions will get lost in the gender politics issues surrounding the photos etc..

          • Why tricky? Slater, right leaning commentators, right wing political figures have had the bash by Hager – conspiracy was the cry, dirty politics….. but some journos involved get out without their names published? Really Pete? Really?

Nothing tricky about – out everyone or no one, IF its in the Public Interest to out Slater et al what possible excuse to not out those of a Left Wing persuasion or journos acting as part of the operation/s?

Personally think Hager should never have been able to disclose details garnered via an illegal act… but once he did why not the lot? In the Public Interest after all…

The whole affair has reeked to high heaven of opportunism and hypocrisy by any number of people.

Note: I don’t expect Ben to answer….. this whole appearance here recently is interesting in my view..

I was really thinking of your last paragraph. Sometimes (certainly for me) I want to dive into the debate but also think should do I want to add mine field walking to hobbies section of a CV. (Actually now in the decades since a CV, but you get my point.)

            • Sorry Pete… I kind of realised you were referring to the final paragraph of my post when I had pushed the send button and then re-read your comment… D’OH! Did things in the wrong order …..

But yes the piling on means asking any questions about Ben and Ms Williams will automatically lead to gender politics debates which divert to some more serious questions about a senior political writers ethics and motives… never mind we will leave it there ; )

               /  25th November 2015

It will not make me feel worse. What makes me feel worse is people trying to tell me how to run my life.

I’m going to finish writing. It exposes a lot of people including myself. It is why people are trying so hard to get me to either kill myself or go back to daily drinking.

Fixing myself requires in burdening myself of all the things I’ve seen, analysed, been forwarded and the raw dumps I have been sent. I do this for those who seek the truth and I do this for myself.

I publish the book and I walk away. It is quite irrefutable and I’ll be taking a massive break from online for quite some time afterwards. The people I’m with now love me and think highly of me. People like that are all I need.

              The truth will out.

              Thanks Ratty.

If you somehow ping me on Twitter (do like a fave or something of a random tweet maybe?), I’ll follow you back and we can DM. Mr George should probably never give out commenters emails or who knows where it could end up?

I know I came across strong in my response to you… But I’m ever so open to new experiences and people.

            • That’s a choice Ben has to make. If he waits until after he has ‘fixed himself’ he then has to risk dropping back into a mire if he is to deal to this. If he does it sooner rather than later it will be tough but if he gets it all out and behind him he can then leave it all behind him.

Im thinking that the Slater/Nottingham thing is a wee bit superficial and its a wee bit deeper than that, and I think he just needs to take time away from everyone

            • He doesn’t have to deal with the Slater/Nottingham on his own. There’s a number of others in on that including myself, and there will be strength in confronting that in numbers and spreading the load and impact.

            • Ben Rachinger

Nothing could get worse for me. Nothing. I have lost EVERYTHING on this endeavour. The book will be worth it. The truth always is. But of you’re implying I need social credit or social approval to feel good about myself, you’re sadly mistaken. People like me do not EVER seek the approval of others for our actions. We take guidance, we seek advice but we NEVER let others make our decisions for us. It is what makes us, us.

I recall making comments a few years ago about a certain Auckland City councillor to which I labeled her a “whiney old cat that needs to be tossed off a bridge”. Turned out she read the comment, and repeated it on twitter I had discovered well over a year later.

It’s easy to flippantly throw things around on the internet (or pass around photos) without any thought for what it does to the other person, it’s not until you see what it does to the other person that you realize you might have gone too far.

Of course I didn’t literally want to tie her up in a sack and throw her off a bridge, but the sentiment isn’t exactly charming just because I don’t agree with her politics. I’ll get around to apologizing to her, I haven’t forgotten.

            Anyway, as you were.

I was in social detox at the Auckland City Mission at the time. As Lauda Finem tweeted) but relapsed when LF posted JW pics. I hear San Fransisco is a nice place for IT professionals. Unfortunately my new start is impossible in NZ. I love this country more than my own life but I have things I want to do. Products to make. A life to live. This has already consumed almost 2/27ths of my entire life. I can’t wait until it is over.

If you still have the money then why not just give it back to him? By the way it’s not a crime to pay someone to get dirt on your enemies. It is a crime to fraudulently tell someone you can do something knowing full well you can’t, accept money from them, and then do a runner.

Cameron gave you a platform and held you up as an example of a good kiwi kid. You turned around and shat on him and Pete and WO thinking you would make a quick buck exploiting all the Dirty Politics nonsense. The very least you can do is give him a public apology.

The question I always come back to concerning this whole incident is why was Jessica Williams sending a young man pictures of herself? What did she think she would gain from this?
There was no intimate relationship between them, Ben had a girlfriend at the time, so was Jessica trying to seduce him?
My other issue would have to be how a whole community jumped on the bandwagon claiming that Ben had committed the ultimate sin of “revenge porn”. Those pictures are a far cry from pornography. Also, they were not published by him, rather sent to one individual to highlight & show the unsolicited attention given to him by Jessica Williams.
