    Whark! From BNZ:

As part of our recent launch of BNZ Advantage we’re streamlining our suite of credit cards and will no longer be offering your current Visa Classic card. So we wanted to let you know that you’ll be automatically moving to our new BZN Advantage Visa Classic, which offers you some extra benefits. (The “extra benefits” are useless to me)

    Details

    Account Fee: (Currently $15 yearly) $20 half-yearly.

    Maw, get me ma shotgun.

To be fair to BNZ, a check of my statements reveals the fee for my Classic Visa is $15 half-yearly. But there seems to be a new fee of $5 for statement copy. That’s not in any of my past Visa statements. I negotiated fee rebates for other accounts.

The Casino has demoted me from a Sapphire Premier Card to a Ruby one. I was really surprised to be upgraded in the first place, as I must be one of their least ‘big spenders’; I never gamble, never buy anything expensive like alcohol and usually have the muffin & coffee $5 combo. Sigh. It was nice while it lasted. :-/

Hopefully it’s to discourage all those old biddies that hold up the queue for 10 minutes while they fart around looking through their purse trying to find their complimentary coffee card 😡

      Gets an uptick from me……

That has no relevance at all to the Casino Premier Cards which are not complimentary coffee cards. You’re upticking something that you know nothing about.

They do have coffee cards in one of the coffee bars, but they have nothing to do with the other cards; which should be obvious from the name. The other cards-Ruby, Sapphire, Platinum etc-accumulate points and offer rewards and discounts. One applies for them, one simply picks up coffee cards in coffee bars. The complimentary coffee cards don’t do anything but give a free coffee after so many, they don’t have pin numbers and keep note of what one spends and how many points have been given or earned. There is quite a difference.

Yes, BNZ has one. Dunno what my credit limit would be but hopefully it won’t change. I’ll check it out Monday. Annual Account fee $10. Thanks Kitty.

Mine is just one of those that takes it directly from the account rather than doing what credit cards do, so credit limits don’t apply as far as I know. And it either doesn’t charge for transactions or only charges as if they were eftpos, I forget which. Either way, it’s a lot cheaper/
