Immigration poll – One News

Deciding immigration numbers and policy by public opinion is a bit crazy but One News Colmar Brunton have a poll on it.

Despite all the adverse publicity about immigration and a move against it a majority still think that immigration numbers are about right or we should have more.

Do you think the Government should let fewer immigrants in, let more in or is the number about right?

  • Fewer migrants in 38% (up from 27%)
  • Numbers about right 44% (down from 51%
  • More migrants in 13% (down from 18%)

As immigration and related issues like housing, employment, work visas and international students is quite complex and most people are unlikely to know much about how they interrelate in detail this poll is quite simplistic.

I don’t think the Government will be very worried about the result.

For some as yet unexplained reason One News are holding back the party part of their poll back for tomorrow night.

Poor Katie tried to spin it positively. The major reason the tide is turning on immigration can be summed up in one word- MUSLIMS.

Watch the polls completely reverse as we experience our first terrorist attack, like the Aussie man nearly knifed to death in a park today.

On second thoughts, the soppy liberals probably won’t run a poll when that happens.

Its incredible what we put up with. Why the officials didn’t drag this prick to his feet, take him into the toilet and thrash him senseless is beyond me. I’m sure few would have objected. If this Muslim head-case had a problem with that type of treatment, let him take it up with his home countries Human Rights Commission.

So what is the solution to a religious lunatic making everyone’s flight a misery?

Rather than belittling this person as a “religious lunatic”, how about recognising that he was deeply distressed. I know that if I were in that situation I’d be pretty damned upset as well.

He was at the start of a 2 hr flight, and passengers were still boarding, so perhaps sedation would have been a more humanitarian approach, or if he were that distressed, then he could have been taken back off the plane and given help.

Deasr Lord, must we smack the shit out of everyone who offends or upsets us?

“Deasr Lord, must we smack the shit out of everyone who offends or upsets us?”

That comment would have been better directed at me. And I have provided a reasonable answer. I do like your facetiousness though.

            • @ Joe Bloggs – ” … a more humanitarian approach”

It’s all right for you to say that Joe Bloggs … You’re human …

He is a religious lunatic and that is simply an accurate description. The only question is where and how he gets restrained as is obviously necessary. Obviously more thought needs to be put into designing a method for deporting religious lunatics.

We are better than that….when dealing with rational human beings who don’t want to kill us. Pete, don’t let normalcy blind you.

Yup Corky, a couple of good hard smacks in the head, applied at the first sign of trouble, would have meant everyone else had an enjoyable flight.

You are a fast learner. But three warnings would’ve been fair before he was thrashed. How’s the leafy suburbs today? I can almost smell the coffee machine working away while you munch a bowl of berries, yoghurt and middle-class bliss.

LOL, I think you have me confused with someone else Corky. If he is being deported he has been warned before & obviously didn’t listen then…

*Yet another* ISIS inspired *lone wolf’ attack in *Sydney*, with an elderly man being brutally stabbed while walking thru a park close to his home. The 22yo attacker was heard to yell “Alan’s New Snack Bar:!: ” ….or words to that effect. (tick, tock…)

This is not radical Islam, it is evil Islam. Radical Islam would reform it, not revert it to vile and evil barbarism.

It’s just fundamentalist Islam. Reforming Christianity has involved reminding its followers they need to emulate its central figure, Jesus Christ – their perfect man. Islam’s reformation necessarily Is doing the same thing, but their perfect man, Muhammad, is of a completely different character to Jesus
