MediaWatch

Media Watch is a focus on New Zealand media, blogs and social media. You can post any items of interested related to media.

A primary aim here is to hold media to account in the political arena. A credible and questioning media is an essential part of a healthy democracy.

A general guideline โ€“ post opinion on or excerpts from and links to blog posts or comments of interest, whether they are praise, criticism, pointing out issues or sharing useful information.

As usual avoid anything that could cause any legal issues such as potential defamation or breaching suppression orders. Also remember that keeping things civil, legal and factual is more effective and harder to argue against or discredit.

Sometimes other blogs get irate if their material is highlighted elsewhere but the Internet is specifically designed to share and repeat information and anyone who comments or puts anything into a public forum should be aware that it could be republished elsewhere (but please include attribution).

Without wishing to be churlish, I’m afraid these comments reflect everything of Mrs. Clinton’s character. Just an utter lack of self-awareness, and worse, a total sense of self entitlement.

Funny, I thought, all of the scare-mongering comments she made about Trump, applied equally to herself.
Who knows how Trump’s presidency will pan out, but I prefer him over Clinton any day.

She was saying they’ve been sending out a few tins of this to their liberal friends…….

Merkel should be charged with treason and shot. No one would hold it against her if she came out and said” I made a mistake. Muslims aren’t conducive to German culture. Henceforth they are banned from immigrating here.” Her crime is continuing with course of action that has been proven by facts to put German volk in danger.

Corky, she already has admitted it was a mistake to let the migrants in – a few weeks back she said it and they have started deporting them, but I think it is now too little too late.

I didn’t know that. However, like you say, a little too late. Plus she hasn’t stopped Muslim immigration. Treason should be the charge.

True, she hasn’t stopped it, she is putting the onus to do that onto Greece. She has called on Greece to do more to stop the migrants, which is a bit rich considering it is because of her that so many are now coming, and she is reportedly behind the punitive economic measures against Greece, and now she expects them to clear up her mess with no financial help.

It is far too late now, the best that can be hoped for is that the Intelligence Services manage to curb the planned attacks. Several have been disrupted in UK, France, Belgium, Netherlands, & Switzerland over the last couple of weeks.

Oh, and I was slightly incorrect, I thought she had started deportations, but she just said they would start deporting migrants next year.

More information coming out on this.

German media are reporting he is an asylum seeker who arrived in Germany as a refugee at the beginning of this year. Police have not confirmed this, however, the media reporting it are citing sources within the security services in Germany.

The Lorry belonged to a Polish company, and a man was found dead in the passenger seat who is believed to be the original driver. It is believed the Lorry was hijacked in Poland.

In the UK armed police have increased patrols at Christmas markets, and it was reported several weeks ago that plain clothes Counter Terrorism police and SAS would be patrolling Oxford Street, and other populated areas in London.

Media were earlier reporting that the suspect was radicalised in camps after arriving in Germany, but now there is some uncertainty as to whether they have the correct suspect. They haven’t stated that they don’t believe the guy in custody was involved, or that he is innocent, just that they are unsure if he was the driver. The man in custody is denying any involvement.

    Hmmmm…..
I was wondering why his first trial was stopped, for reasons that even the jury weren’t allowed to know. and now this….

Obviously I know who he is, but know better than to ‘dox’ him here. I do wonder though, if a lowly tradesman such as myself was accused of these alleged crimes, would I be afforded the same level of secrecy???
