Well all, the day has arrived. I have internet!! No more using all my data at home. 😀

I am about to sit down to a nice glass of Aussie Shiraz (it was a little cheaper than the Otago Pinot Noir, and it isn’t pay week), and a toad in the hole for dinner. 🙂

Yep, living the dream – a cheap aussie red & tesco’s Toad in the Hole at home on a Saturday night. 😀

To be fair, I also have a stinking cold!

Sorry to hear that, but, well, if you’ve gotta have one, a stinking one is the best kind. You obviously don’t do ANYTHING by halves, M. 😉

Better go, the LF’s up. I should really go make her some brekkie. I got spoiled rotten yeterday for no good reason. Better pay something forward. Always nice having a happy woman in the house ! 🙂

Cheers G, but I am in good company – Her Majesty had it at Christmas. 🙂

Nice, make her a good brekkie.

Blimmin’ luxury. When we were served Toad in the Hole, our parents shared the toad and we kids had the leftover hole… 😦

You had the hole ? Luxury ! We used to dream of having hole for our dinner. Our dinner was a mouthful of air with a long breath to follow-if we were lucky.

Of course, if you tell that to the young people today. they’d never believe you.

According to some media reports in the UK, Geert Wilders’ party PVV is leading in the polls in the Netherlands. Wilders wants to lead the Netherlands out of the EU, he wants the Dutch to follow the example of the UK. However, despite his party leading in the polls it is unlikely he will become PM – which will be a relief to the EU. It seems the other major parties have refused to work with Wilders in Government, and as the Netherlands has a Proportional Representation system he needs the support of several other parties to rule.

However, it will be interesting if the PVV gets the majority of the votes how it impacts on the politics in the Netherlands, because even if h is not PM there is the psychological advantage of having the most support in the country.

  4. Constitution Aotearoa asks: Should the Treaty of Waitangi be in New Zealand’s Constitution? Sir Geoffrey Palmer and Andrew Butler’s ‘Submissions on the Role of the Treaty – some reflections’ is a very worthwhile if somewhat long read.

Its legal and everyday common sense IMHO.

Palmer and Butler conclude “Protection of treaty and aboriginal rights in the supreme law Canadian constitution has not brought about aboriginal privilege in Canada; recognition of the rights of Māori under the Treaty of Waitangi in a written constitution will not do it in New Zealand either.”

Public transport lunacy at Auckland Transport. Bus service has less than one passenger per day on its 11 round trips for six months.

Whoever that passenger is, you’d think the rotten beggar could at least repay their kindness by getting on the bus EVERY day, Al. 😠

Was probably an AT supervisor checking the timetabling, G.

This one is for you G. Audio quality isn’t perfect, but you get the idea.

As for Auckland Transport, they did a most excellent job last night, IMHO. Looking up & down Great North Road, at the masses walking to the transport hub in Grey Lynn, I remarked to my ataahua wahine, “Just imagine this many people walking up to Parliament in a protest. Bet the buggers would start listening then…”

I’ve decided Aussies are the best guests. They think it is lovely and cool here because it is only 30 deg.

30 ? It was 35 here-a bit too much of a good thing. I don’t know why I looked except to annoy myself. Even with the fans on in the kitchen and sittingroom-four in all-it’s still well up in the 20s inside.

At least they’re good for being guests. Seems they are the worst for phone calls at national leader level? 😳
