The Christchurch fires kept us awake as our grandchildren were evacuated from Cashmere Road. Very scary down there but a huge effort put in to fight it during the night. Just hoping no more lives will be lost to it. Tragic already that one was.

Raining hard, drought broken. Wish we could send some to Chch today. FWPh lost longer comment when I went to get a link. Seems to do it only when it is most annoying. Note to self- put links in separate comment.

Not an acronym, can’t be pronounced as a word. It’s an initialism.

Al It is a worry when you are so far away from your loved ones. Hope every one is safe down there. Raining hard an persistent in Far North. Good for the grass trees and plants.
Hope it’s on its way down South.

I know my family are ultra sensible, Possum so I’m not worried about them. I know they’ll look after each other well. Just for everything else that could happen there with bad luck and unkind weather.

It doesn’t matter what sort of suburb is under threat, it’s just as bad for the residents.

I was laying back last night watching ‘Married At First Sight’ …..dreaming what it would be like to have hooked up with a *handsome Billionaire*……then Wayne walked in 😡

He asked me “Wotsup?”, and knowing that he would be interested, I told him about some of the comments that Blaze and a few others had made in the *Trump Post* about the Peter Thiel citizenship affair.

Coincidentally, Wayne then showed me the latest *tweet* he had just gotten from his mate at the *Herald* and said it looks like they are keeping a close eye on the story as things unfold….it appears *NBR* are also getting in on the act.

Anyway, I went back to watching my tele program and got to thinking about *the advice my mum gave me* when I first started going out Clubbing with the girls……she used to say, “Remember Nell, all those *rich handsome men* you meet at those places are mostly already married, or gay” 😎

It was on at my place last night and before I left the room to read in peace I said that they treat the participants like lab rats and should be prosecuted for coercing naive, needy people into public humiliation with obvious contempt for their feelings and wishes.

That’s *exactly* wot Wayne said ❗ Talk about ‘great minds……’

Well, I give the people credit for knowing what they are letting themselves in for-but it’s a tacky premise. I took it that the people were attention-seekers who must know that there is a very small chance that the marriage will last, but who want their 15 minutes of fame. I wouldn’t watch it, of course, but I don’t have the impression that much thought goes into the matches. But I have no intention of watching it to see.

    Helpful Hint Department

    1. If you ever have a really sore tongue & discover it’s because of an ulcer, dabbing it with glycerine on a cotton bud is very efficacious at reducing the pain & helping to heal it quickly.
    2. If you have a bottle of ear-piercing solution which is a similar size & shape to the one with the glycerine, be careful not to mistake the two and dab the ulcer with ear-piercing solution.
    3. If it is too late already for 2. to be of any use to you, don’t worry, you’ll probably never ever do it again. 👍

Great advice – and useful in so many situations!
I never knew excessive tongue in cheek caused ulcers?

Was there someone there to pull you down from the ceiling ?

Teatree oil is excellent-it stinks, but it works.

I see that a test is being done to see if honey can help coldsores. It can. I tried it once when I had a surprise one spring up and all I had by way of anything that might work was some active manuka honey-nothing to lose, so I dabbed some on. It worked very quickly.

When I was a child, my brother and I would dare each other to bite codliver oil capsules-the taste was terrible. I tried it with a fishoil one a few days ago to see if it really had been that bad. Yes.

Was anyone else inflicted with Lanes’ Emulsion ?

It’s biting your tongue when you see some of Al’s baloney but you’re waiting until later to see if he improves that’ll probably do it.

If you have a bottle of pure nicotine the same size and shape, you’ll never do it again, either.

Does anyone know if Ryobi lawnmowers are better than Masport ? My electric one seems to be terminally ill. I could just be unoriginal and buy the same one again-the old one doesn’t owe me anything.

    Morrison, same again=$249

    Masport (a bit bigger & stronger) $279

    Ryobi (unknown) $299
