    • I love the comforting consistency you’ve brought to YourNZ since your return from wherever you went Nelly … (I shan’t speculate on where that might have been?) …

The opening comment of each and every day will be a provocative one from Nelly Smickers … although today’s is quite mild [and subtley allusive] by comparison to most …

Its just like the good old days of Kiwi Guy …

Nelly’s no Kiwi Guy parti, although they both possess the ability to press pg’s buttons. A muted version of KG blew through last week but sadly it seems the reformation is a work in progress and he has been given the flick again

        • Yeah … Trumpenreich was “muted” until he ramped-up Right back into KG again …

Its all good *FUN* though eh?

        • He hasn’t been “given the flick again”. He knows that some of his behaviour is unacceptable here but doesn’t seem keen on changing his approach. It’s his choice.

I can’t do it. I can’t take Charlie out, even though he bloody deserves it! Prettygirl & he are inseparable. Those eyes of hers. She would never forgive me. the next time he chases off other mallards coming up to the fence for some wheat too, I’m going to open the gate & give him a smack in the ear. See if that wakes his ideas up.

Just yesterday I noticed our village duck population has lept ten-fold. There’s a whole division shipped in for emergency shelter. Not stupid, these birds.

Yes Nelly I sit outside on the veranda typing this to you.
There are shots going off all over the place been going since 7. The big guns sound like muffled heavy artillery going off in the distant, I imagine.
I had a quite moment for all the people who hear the sound of war every day.

I hope all the local ducks are up on the ponds where No Man with gun is allowed!

A lite look at Wishful thinking and Defeat…

An Angel appeared before Adam and said,
“God is going to create something Wonderful for you called a woman”.

    “Tell me more”. Adam said.

“This is going to be fantastic!! said the Angel.

This woman will be a lot like you physically, only much more Beautiful.
She will Live to serve you at all times.
When you are tired, she will give you a massage.
When you are hungry, she’ll feed you.
She’ll come and bow down to you in the morning and when you return from working in the garden in the evening.
She’ll live to serve your every pleasure, each day.

WOW! said Adam “Soundz amazing!!! What would it cost me?”

The Angel replied, “It will cost you your right arm and a leg”.

Adam thought about it for a nano second and said,

“What have you got for a Rib?”

A woman who will never complain, nag or talk back to you.
For every command you give her, she’ll simply reply, ‘yes master’

Hey, a question for someone here who may know.

In the last month or so has there been a change in tax laws / agreements regarding multinationals in NZ?

I am asking because I had a digital magazine subscription, and I have had issues, I deleted the app to re-download (it has worked previously, so thought it would work again), only the app is no longer available in iTunes and I have lost over 2 years of my magazine.

I have contacted both Apple and the publishers, the publishers said it has been removed as a result of change in tax agreements with Apple. I am just wondering if it is a Government change with NZ as the result of Labour and Greens pressure. If so I will be sending them all a very strongly worded, and unhappy, email telling them that they have cost me a lot of money.

  5. “Man’s search for meaning is the primary motivation in his life and not a “secondary rationalisation” of instinctual drives. This meaning is unique and specific … a significance which will satisfy his own [individual] WILL to meaning.

There are some who contend … who contend that meanings and values are “nothing but defense mechanisms, reaction formations and sublimations” … But … I would not be willing to live merely for the sake of my “defense mechanisms” nor … to die for the sake of my “reaction formations”. Man, however, is able to live and even to die for the sake of his ideals and values!”

    – Victor E Frankl, ‘Man’s Search for Meaning’ – ‘Logotherapy in a Nutshell’

Hopefully Victor Frankl (1905-1997), who formulated logotherapy based on his experiences as a prisoner at Auschwitz, Dachau and other Nazi concentration camps during WW2, needs no introduction. His book has sold over 9 million copies in 23+ languages.

“Logotherapy … considers man a being whose main concern consists in fulfilling a meaning, rather than in the mere gratification and satisfaction of drives and instincts, or in merely reconciling … id, ego and superego … or the mere adaptation and adjustment to society and environment.”

In “the existential vacuum” – a widespread phenomenon of the 20th century – “No instinct tells him [man] what he has to do, and no tradition tells him what he ought to do; sometimes he does not even know what he wishes to do. Instead, he either wishes to do what other people do (conformism) or he does what other people wish him to do (totalitarianism).

Or perhaps a combination of both?
