Slater v Craig (groan)

Only two days into a 3 week tit for tat defamation case between Cameron Slater and Colin Craig and it is looking like a bad vase of deja vu. I don’t think I’ll bother with most of the detail, most of which was aired in Williams v Craig.

This looks to me like a contest between someone who acted stupidly and possibly over-reacted to a dirty political and personal campaign against him.

Regardless of any eventual findings and awards by the judge I don’t think there are any winners in this.

What a waste of court resources.

Just one point of note – Whale Oil is trying to capitalise off the sordid circus by selling memorabilia associated with the trial. That may turn out to be an expensive exercise.

I am still amazed at how Craig would want to go over and over what is highly embarrassing for him. He shows all the traits of a narcissist and someone so swept up in his own self importance

The interesting bit will be the brochure job evidence / keen to see how Craig defends it and how Slater uses it

        Which one?

It is a very sad show. It’s hard to know who drags it down the most.

Graig has done his best to eliminate christian conservative party’s from politics in NZ.
    The indiscretions were damaging enough
His litigious replies to the dirty side of politics have done more harm than good to the standing of his reputation.
    The Streisand effect
We all are still looking at Craig and his dirty laundry being dragged though the courts.
He is irreversible linked to the Conservative party in NZ.
If the Conservative party remains after the next election they will need to do a huge amount of work to distance themselves this media circus and its chief clown.
Having Craig within a mile of them will only tarnish the brand more.

God: “Looks like you’re it Colin. Very disappointing. I thought there’d be more of you by now. I should’ve proof-read & edited those scriptures. Still. Beggars can’t be choosers, I guess. You’d better come in. Wipe your feet. And behave.”

@Griff: I’ve come to the conclusion that, when the rubber meets the road on Election days, the majority of those who call themselves Conservative Christian voters, despite being vocally supportive of a party that overtly represents their interests, nevertheless quietly huddle into their voting booths…………………and then vote for the status quo (most often, National).

[No speculation about what might have happened and what might be used as evidence in the case please. PG]
