  1. Has anyone else failed to access The Standard? The site seemed to be down yesterday afternoon and I’m still getting time outs now.

      “This site can’t be reached
      the is currently unreachable.

Yup. Same here. (Some might argue that even when it’s reachable, some of the contributors are unreachable 😳)

      • Thanks – yeah, same for me.

An inopportune time for them to go down over Labour’s congress weekend.

          Mightn’t have any bitcoins.

          • Funny, but it would be hard to imagine lprent not being adequately protected or clicking on a malware attachment.

Yes, I know. Just a bit of hack-black humour there. But I did note when I used to be a regular visitor a couple of years back their site was unavailable more often than others.

  2. Some mischief from David Farrar in advance of Andrew Little’s housing announcement today?

I saw that item last night. I was sorry to hear they had lost their daughter to suicide after she had been required to leave her Housing NZ house for *anti-social behaviour*. I wondered how come these two grandparents are caring for 9 grandchildren who live with them, & why their parents can’t, why they too were required to leave their previous Housing NZ house for *anti-social behaviour*.

I’m not having a go at these people. I’m saying these questions arise in many such tv cases & they don’t get answered by the reporter. So I think a lot of viewers just dismiss it as *not the full story here*.
