A colleague made me aware of this yesterday, I think we are the only one’s who are finding it a little cringe.

Disclaimer: I haven’t seen any party political broadcasts from other parties, so can’t comment on them as to their cringiness.

It won’t play for me, but I’ll take your word for it ! Long ads of any kind tend to be a turn-off. The new Emirates one with Jennifer Aniston and a horrid, bratty child is a good example (well, I think it is) One sits through them saying ‘Oh, get ON with it !’

Not sure why it isn’t playing for you, as I made sure to copy the link from youtube rather than from the UK sites, so it wouldn’t be blocked in NZ, so a little strange.

It isn’t the length, it is quite a short political ad, it is the whole concept of the ad that makes it cringy.

It played ok for me. I quite enjoyed it Missy. Certainly a humourous approach in the best tradition of British family sitcoms. The only thing is, like a sitcom, when you’ve seen it once, you don’t then want to keep watching the same episode, & it wouldn’t make me want to play the game. I’m sick of game shows. 😀

Some here have found it amusing, those of us at work just thought it was a little cringy, and most definitely 80’s!

I would have thought it was more like an American sitcom – very fake and try hard!

Glad you enjoyed it though, and I don’t think you are supposed to play the game, that is the whole point of it.

I am using a different computer, which may or may not make a difference-it seemed as if it was about to, and the little red ball bobbed along, but nothing happened 😦

I was imagining one of those earnest ads that say the same thing over and over to make sure that we understand it….

I have just played it. Spare me. It may not be BE long, but it SEEMS long. The shrill voices are a total turnoff for me and the whole thing seems a waste of time and energy. Not to mention a cracking bore…what on earth were they thinking ? I thought that our Greens were cringe-making, but this is in a league of its own. Gold medal cringe-making award level.

most party political broadcasts rate high on the cringe factor scale…this message is too long.Short ,simple messages work …best.

    • Agreed. I nearly missed the punchline.

      Think Right.
      Vote Right.
      Be Right.

      Something simple like that…..Blazer?

These people are sick puppies. Thank God for Theresa May.

I second that. The Greens here are loonier than in NZ (if that is possible), but then they are competing with Labour and the Lib Dems.

loonier than in NZ’…what derogatory remarks. Can you explain why you think like this?

There is no message other than Conservatives are bad people, the message itself is simple, but the way they have done it is higher on the cringe factor than others.

The greatest political predictor in the history of the world explains the short attention span president and why it is so important to apply the correct filter when interpreting the behaviors of dems vs repubs.

“One of the patterns I observe in U.S. politics is that Democrats organize around the general concept of fairness for all people, including non-citizens. Republicans are more oriented toward the psychology of motivation. And that means you can easily put the wrong filter on your analysis of how much information a president needs before making decisions. The fairness president needs different information than the motivation president. Each would stop the learning when they had enough for their purposes, which are different.”

Another good read. Spent a good deal of my working life geting my head around complicated lengthy documents & reports (even had to write a few, analysing complicated messes) & then busting them down to 1 to 2 page summaries of the essential issues & key recommendations for managers – because even as a report author, often even I would get lost in the bloody details of my own reports, if I didn’t. But I suspect Trump does get such summaries, c. The trouble is his speeches & interviews invariably have jumping around from one thing to another, & always have a boastful element. Suggesting an undisciplined mind.

Basically, he often just says too much. It’s almost like sometimes he gets told he’s got to speak for 30 minutes so he does. But I think I detect an element of learning in the last couple of his Press Conferences I saw. His answers were short, & he didn’t blather on. Also, I think he told Erdogan behind closed doors to pull his head in re the Kurds. Just a feeling.

Thinking about rorts and the ACC.My wife waited for 5 weeks for the follow up with the specialist for her sore shoulder. She went in to see him, i visited the little boys room for a pee and we came out at the same time. How much did ACC pay him as he didn’t examine my wife in any way and just spoke to her for a few minutes, easy money, billable minutes, life under national

you’re in my good books Lurch…thought you had waivered for..a while.

You are not a doctor, and your remarks are the result of ignorance. It is highly unlikely that a specialist would be as dishonest as you say this one is. Their being a specialist implies that they have a little more knowledge than the rest of us, and their incomes would hardly need them to rip off ACC to make a crust.

KITTY KITTY, he could have sent a letter, i expect a specialist to talk to my wife longer than the length of a pee, as i said BILLABLE MINUTES…30 people an hour $50 per person say EASY MONEY, and KITTY you are paying him
