    UK Terror threat Update.

    * The security threat level today has been lowered from Critical back to Severe – situation normal. This means a terrorist attack is highly likely, not imminent. This indicates the Joint Terrorist Assessment Centre (JTAC), who set the security threat level, are confident that the police have the main players of the terror cell in custody.

    * The military will be relieved of duties in support of police on Monday evening. Despite the hysterical reaction of the media – and those on the left – we did not have troops on the street or martial law or the army protecting the elites, but rather the military were used to relieve police in guarding duties so that the police would be freed to be re-deployed around the country, and also the military were under the command of the police.

    * There has been a lot of backlash for Jeremy Corbyn’s speech yesterday as he appeared to blame Britain for the attack in Manchester. There has been a lot of discussion, and for those that agree with him, or not, the biggest problem is that he is seen as politicising the terrorist attack to help him in the General Election.

    * The police have arrested 11 people (not including the bomber’s family members arrested in Tripoli). Amongst those arrested is the bomber’s cousin who stored much of the explosive material at his barber shop.

Well, I predict we’ll have more weather, & I predict there’ll be more terrorist attacks in the UK. It makes perfect sense for them to remain on a very high alert until they are absolutely certain they have got everybody involved in the latest one. While no doubt you or others could cite stats n stuff showing people are much more likely to be killed or injured in a car accident or crossing the street or summat, that was also true for all the victims of the arena attack & other Islamic terrorist attacks. Except they got killed by terrorists. What is your point exactly? Do you think everybody should just go back to normal & forget about it?

I think there’s a reasonable chance we will see more of it G…

“Thousands of returning European nationals who made the choice, based on violent recruiting material, to join ISIS in Syria & Iraq are now returning to Europe. Unbelievably, they are allowed to.

Since 2014, an estimated 5,000 to 6,000 men (and women) left Europe to join the violent Death Cult of rape, butchery and beheadings. European countries such as Sweden, France, Denmark, Belgium, Germany and the U.K have had to put in place “de-radicalisation” programs to “help” these butchers “find a path back home.””

I believe the ‘de-radicalisation’ programs have proven to be a total failure. Given that these killers are not radicals but fundamentals, and have been brainwashed 24/7 from birth, we should perhaps not be surprised.

The authorities are frantically swatting wasps when they would be better employed pouring petrol in the nest.

Wow, what an insensitive ignorant comment. What would you have them do, put the threat level at Low (attack is unlikely) just so you don’t think they are worrying about it, and then criticise when an attack happens.

Regardless of what you think Threat Levels are nothing to do with the politicians, they are set by JTAC, and they aren’t about fear levels they are about openness and transparency, they also feed into the travel warnings from other countries. NZ changes its travel warnings based on the threat level the UK has, as do other countries.

Don’t you think they deserve to know that there is a risk of a terrorist attack so that they can be more aware in situations where there are a lot of people? Or are you a proponent of keeping the public in the dark and not telling them anything?

G, the threat level has been severe for years in the UK now. It was up at critical whilst they were rounding up those involved in Manchester, the fact that it has been reduced again indicates they probably have got everyone they believe is involved.

A severe threat level is normal in the UK now.

No, Terrorist attacks are not predictable, hence the Severe threat level. If they were predictable then the threat level may go lower until they know one is going to happen.

Still not sure what you are getting at Blazer. You are stating the obvious.

Some of your posts are starting to look like posting for the sake of it as opposed to actually adding value to the conversation.

      Yes, Blazer, otherwise fine.

Not sure what that comment is getting at to be honest. UK has been on a Severe threat level for years, it is the new normal.

The fact that it was on critical for only a few days is a good thing, it would be more concerning if it remained on critical for more than a week.

    Threat Levels explained.

    https://www.mi5.gov.uk/threat-levels

    Threat levels explained.

Threat levels are designed to give a broad indication of the likelihood of a terrorist attack.
LOW means an attack is unlikely.
MODERATE means an attack is possible, but not likely
SUBSTANTIAL means an attack is a strong possibility
SEVERE means an attack is highly likely
CRITICAL means an attack is expected imminently

What would you know about it Blazer? What expertise do you have to call it a load of Bollocks? What makes you think you know better to make such stupid and ignorant comments?

What has Tony Blair got to do with it? MI5, MI6, and JTAC have been setting Threat Levels for almost as long as they have been in existence, Tony Blair has nothing to do with the Threat Levels.

Seriously you should just stop commenting on stuff you appear to know nothing about.

Ah, thinking about it I now get it, you saying it is bollocks is because you really don’t understand anything about it but want to sound like you do right? Or is it because you don’t think the public have a right to know, and a right to transparency regarding the threat that is posed to them? So which is it? Ignorance, or wanting a lack of transparency?

so if there is a high risk of an attack…what do you do…stay under the bed all day, wear a crash helmet to…work? You tell me how it alters behaviour by accelerating tension in an artificial way, that has been proven unreliable time and time …again.Blair and Bush lead the invasion of Iraq….a supparating sore on the face of humanity for being the ultimate catalyst….for terror in the…West.
