Corbyn on London attacks

The BBC on Jeremy Corbyn’s response to the London terrorist attack.

‘They want our election to be halted’Commenting on his return to campaigning, Mr Corbyn said the election had now turned into more than a fight between the Tories and Labour, calling it a “struggle between terrorism and democracy itself”.

“The mass murderers who brought terror to our streets in London and Manchester want our election to be halted,” he said.

“They want democracy halted. They want their violence to overwhelm our right to vote in a fair and peaceful election and to go about our lives freely.

“That is why it would be completely wrong to postpone next Thursday’s vote, or to suspend our campaigning any longer.”

Corbyn: Police should ‘take whatever action is necessary’

Jeremy Corbyn has said Labour’s priority is public safety, pledging to “take whatever action is necessary and effective” to protect the UK.

He said he agreed with giving “full authority” to the police to use “whatever force is necessary to protect and save life, as they did last night [and] in Westminster in March”.

Mr Corbyn then reiterated his party’s manifesto pledge to recruit another 10,000 police officers.

And Corbyn has gone political on it too:

Can’t protect public ‘on the cheap’

In an attack on Theresa May, Mr Corbyn said “you cannot protect the public on the cheap” and called for the police and security services to “get the resources they need, not 20,000 police cuts.”

“Theresa May was warned by the Police Federation but she accused them of crying wolf”, he added.

The election is in a few days time.

Momentum have been monitoring twitter obviously. Many have been sharing a previous interview after the Bataclan attack where Corbyn said he did not support shoot to kill in a terrorist attack , also, if I recall correctly Corbyn voted against expanding the shoot to kill powers of the police to include shooting at a driver of a vehicle that is endangering pedestrians if the believe it was deliberate.

Corbyn has been looking weak on Terrorism and Security, he has been trying to turn that around since Manchester.

I am not sure how many outside the sycophants will believe him – or trust him.

    • “he did not support shoot to kill in a terrorist attack”

That’s crazy. Obviously indiscriminate shooting has to be avoided but in an unfolding terrorist situation identified targets must be disabled, and shooting to kill is a well established necessary course of action.

    • Corbyn, like so many stupid politicians, displays a breathtaking ignorance of the real purpose of Islamic terrorism. How he can ascribe such complex thought processes to savages with IQs in the 60/70s I do not know. Their purpose is simply to kill people, as that is the only thing they can grasp that might help them further the spread of Islam, which they have been brainwashed by Imams into seeing as their life’s work. Muslims with higher IQs do it in other ways.

I think we will see a bigger emphases on internal protection (armed police) in the West and less on international interference. If UK and Clinton had left Gaddafi alone Manchester may never have happened.

    • “If UK and Clinton had left Gaddafi alone Manchester may never have happened.”

I find it hard to disagree with that. We ordinary peasants may not at the time have realised that such Arab despots were doing a hugely beneficial job by keeping the lid on a boiling cesspit a thousand times worse than them, but those paid to understand foreign affairs should have done. Maybe they did; and we can draw what inference from that we will.

This didn’t start with Gaddafi. It started with the US paying, arming & supporting, & then abandoning, the mujahideen in Afghanistan, then tricking other Western countries into invading Afghanistan & attacking Muslims, then sucking them again into illegitimately invading Iraq & attacking Muslims, then continuing to drone, rocket, & attack Muslims in Muslim countries ever since. They blew the lid off the whole Middle East.

Any solution to this problem HAS to also address stopping doing that! Get out. Let them kill each other in their own countries, if they must, until they themselves get the sense & the fortitude to grow up & put an end to it. And, preferably, also realise how much Islam holds them back.
