Mohammed Bin Abdulrahman Al Thani vehemently denies that Qatar sponsors terrorism.
What is happening is collective punishment against them by the UAE & Saudi Arabia.
It calls into question the whole future of the GCC.
Qatar categorically denies all the allegations made sgainst them.

It has been a quiet day in the UK news wise today. The biggest excitement was when Trafalgar Square was evacuated for a suspicious package – lasted all of about 40mins. Lucky for us as we were plotting the quickest alternative route to get our trains, just in case it went for a further 20 mins or so. 🙂

Otherwise it has been a whole day of #dogsatpollingstations on twitter. I don’t have a dog to take to the polling station. 😦

There have been reports that Corbyn supporters are buying up ‘far right’ newspapers and burning them. The main two targeted seem to be The Sun and The Daily Mail, probably something to do with their front pages today most likely, both of which endorsed the Conservatives, not to mention the DM front page yesterday which called Corbyn, Abbott, and McDonnell Terrorists apologists.

Polls close in just under 3 hours, the first exit poll is expected at that point.

First results are expected at 11pm local time from Sunderland. This is a safe Labour area, so any swing towards the Conservatives here is expected to indicate a good night for them.

The first key bellwether constituency Nuneaton is expected to announce results at 1am. This seat tends to swing to whoever the overall winner will be, so whoever wins here is likely to win the election.

Another seat to watch for results at 1am is Darlington. This is Labour, and has been for a while, but is still a marginal seat, if it goes to Conservatives it will signal that Theresa May’s strategy of targeting marginals was successful.

The results of the first London seat is expected at 1am as well, this is Battersby, and is currently held by Conservatives, but Labour is polling very strongly in London so it is possible it could go to Labour.

Results for Corbyn’s seat are expected at 2.30am. It is expected to stay labour, but the Guardian suggests that watching for the tone of his victory speech will be an indication of how the night is going. Whether he is triumphant or pitching how to spin a defeat.

Results from a number of the Scottish seats are expected to come in around 3-4am. A number are expected to swing to Conservatives, so will be interesting to watch, Scotland has been a wilderness for the Conservatives for a number of election cycles now. If they do manage to pick up extra seats here it will be down to their leader Ruth Davidson (pity she isn’t standing for Westminster, she would be a worthy successor to Theresa May).

Vauxhall is expected to announce their results at about 3.30am. This is a strongly pro-remain seat and the Liberal Democrats have targeted it relentlessly with a view to trying to unseat current Brexit supporting MP Kate Hoey (Labour).

The most exciting time of the night will be 4-5am when the results from a number of key swing seats is expected.

Though there may still be seats to declare, a final result should be expected by 7am.

It seems the nastiness of NZ’s left is finally reached the UK.

This UK election has been quite reminiscent at times of the last NZ General Election.

Last week Banksy had a promotion on his website to offer a limited edition print to anyone who could show they voted against the Conservatives in the Bristol area. A number of complaints were made as it could be treating and a violation of the election laws. The police opened an investigation and as a result Banksy withdrew the offer. Banksy was advised that the offer could invalidate all results in the Bristol constituencies.

Just so I am not accused of posting fake news because someone doesn’t agree, here is the Guardian article on it.

TS…’Latest polls and some anecdotal evidence from the doorstep are showing a move back to the Tories in Britain. If so it may in part be due to last-minute dark and dirty personally targeted Facebook advertising to voters in marginal seats.’…..this kind of campaign is alright in Missys world…of course.

Is that the one where they nastily showed Corbyn’s actual quotes about actual terrorists?

    the Independent-M.Benn…
‘The press will do anything to get the Tories elected, and at any cost. They’ll even pretend to be against Government policies, and savage tax hikes on the self-employed, just to make people think they’re impartial. But we all know their game (apart from the Morning Star).

No, you shouldn’t believe what journalists say – however, I’ll concede that their tactics have had some influence. Their bias against Corbyn has managed to poison many people’s minds against him.’
