Andrea Vance I think is the only thing in the World that has ever made me think there might be a time when being deaf might actually mean being advantaged.

I know, I know, it sounds like an absolutely terrible thing to say about someone – & I’m sorry – but I just can’t help it. 😕 The Northern Irish accent positively wrenches me gonads ! 😖

Hahaha you have a way with the English language my bro. Yesterday it was raining heavy so I binged watched The Keepers and couldnt sleep. It is horrific what man and priest have done to children in the name of God.
The day before that I watched What the Health … very interesting. So many docos … so little time usually, but being rained in gives me the chance to explore netflix.

Motena Missy been reading about the heat over your way. Seems dear old England is having a terrible time of it lately. Get yourself a Misty bottle for spraying your face. Mine has a fan as well for coolong down in the summertime. There is thunder lightning and heavy rain going on right now. Hate to see the state of the drive when dayligjt comes. Whoops here comes the hard rain now. And fercie rain. Better go check out the outside.

Yes, crap winter weather up here in the north but looks like the south is going to cop it next. At least it’s not cold here now, just wild and wet.

            • It’s been a mild winter so far in the south, barely a frost so far.

The forecast is a bit cooler and wetter but isn’t too bad for late June.

              hey PP,

Hope you aren’t flooded out with that rain.

I think the heatwave is due to break tomorrow, and temps due to drop to around 24 or so by the weekend.

The heat wouldn’t be so bad if it wasn’t humid, and there was decent air conditioning inside! No wind (so opening windows is useless – but I still do it in the opes a breeze finds it way to my place), and the fan just moves hot air around.

I have a spray bottle, I should look for one of those ones with the fan attached, we had a big one at work when I was in China that we set up outside – it was much hotter there, but much better air conditioning inside too! I fear that this heatwave is just the beginning of a long hot summer.

Though I will say the worst bit has been the half naked, pasty white Brits, who take up every available space on public grass areas when they sun is out…. gives me the heeby jeebies just thinking about some of them!!

A couple of quick squally showers last Wednesday morning in Dunedin but Monday and Tuesday were a lot milder than I expected. And of course while it was a little cold at The Game conditions were perfect.
In contrast, in what normally should be more salubrious weather conditions, the Eden Park event could be in for shocking conditions. Which will suit the Lions.

Any way Gez my bro have you seen this:
THE Maori Kiwifruit Growers Forum – a partnership between Maori kiwifruit growers, Te Puni Kokiri and Zespri – was launched last week to advocate for the interests of Maori growers.

Frankly my dear chapz, with Italy producing off season Kiwi fruit I think we have missed the boat.

Yaw English is a darn 100% better than my Maori, sad to say.

Well, those kiwifruiters should row hard or row home sista. I wish their waka every success!

It was madness that we let other countries get their hands on our hard won kiwi-ised chinese gooseberries.

    A US college student that actually talks sense;

  4. Interesting Freudian Slip in the NY Times the other day, discussing the arrest by German police of 36 people who said things on Facebook that the German authorities did not approve of. A bill had been proposed to make Facebook etc police their posts despite the obvious huge risks to Free Speech: (I have capitalised the slips)

“Christian Mihr, another panelist and managing director of Reporters Without Borders, said the law would unwisely transfer authority from Germany’s justice system to companies like Facebook and Twitter.

According to Mr. Mihr, Germany’s current instruments for PERSECUTING hate speech, as demonstrated by Tuesday’s raids, are working. “The raid shows that we don’t need this law because we have already instruments for PERSECUTING such crimes,” he said.”

I don’t think further comment is needed from me.
