I see the Lefty media at the Herald and Fairfax are busy trying to bury the McCarten scandal.

On the flip side, the AM show is covering it extensively and Mark Richardson just warned the nation against voting Labour. 🙂

Have things just got stickier for Labour?

    http://www.newshub.co.nz/home/politics/2017/06/revealed-grand-plans-behind-labour-s-intern-scheme.html

Seems that TV3 have internal documents implicating not only Labour, but the Unions as well.

  4. One toxic political activist on another:

The man is self-destructing without any external help. His CV is totally toxic. And anyone that hires him will most likely be involved in the kinds of politics we would not like to see succeed.

So steady as we go then. Mr McCarten should be allowed to continue his excellent work. He’s actually an asset to those in politics that don’t want to see the left make any meaningful progress. And for those who think he’s still the go-to guy, to break the political right’s spine and dance on its grave, we must allow them their fatal attraction to the Political Terminator.

Ignoring the blind spot preventing him from seeing the Elephant over his shoulder, that excerpt gets the writer’s target’s prognosis right, I reckon.

I hope he has plenty of psychological support later.

That’s a load of incompetent rubbish, B. Of course having an advocate for free trade especially in agriculture heading the WTO was in NZ’s interests. Drivelling nonsense from a Lefty journo.

I read that and couldn’t believe an Editor could be so ignorant. The other countries would have been doing the same thing.

“A series of suicide prevention videos aimed at rangatahi aim to shine a light on the issue and encourage young people to open up about their feelings.”

Yaaa now there will be korero about this taboo subject.

What is your experience with preventative actions, Possum? I would have thought making kids optimistic about their future and resilient in dealing with the past and present is key.

Just adding to that, I don’t think a video can do it anywhere near as well as a human who cares for them.

  6. There are times when I think Donald Trump’s iconoclasm trumps his idiocy. He does like to expose the media. There was a good example on Stuff this morning with a front page article about him parking his golf buggy on a green on one of his own golf courses:

“The leader of the free world ignores golf etiquette to the horror of onlookers.”

I thought I had accidentally opened the satirical Daily Mash.

The ‘writer’ went on to describe it as an “atrocity”.

If Trump had been a Muslim terrorist who had just butchered dozens of children in a Primary School it would likely have been described as an “incident” and buried on page four. And patupaiarehe accuses me of “hyperbole”? We do live in strange times.

I wonder how all this is affecting the polls…

“In June New Zealand’s governing National Party has jumped 3.5% to 46.5% after Finance Minister Steven Joyce handed down a New Zealand Budget projecting a string of surpluses over the next few years. National are now well ahead of the opposition Labour/Greens alliance which dropped 3% to 39.5%.

The overall support for the governing National-led coalition was up 4% to 49% with National support up 3.5% to 46.5%, support for the Maori Party unchanged on 1.5%, Act NZ up 0.5% to 1% and support for United Future unchanged at 0%.

Support for a potential Labour/Greens alliance was down 3% to 39.5% caused entirely by the 3% drop in support for Labour, now on 25.5%, while support for the Greens was unchanged at 14%. Support for New Zealand First was down 1% to 9%.

Support for the parties currently outside Parliament was unchanged at 2.5%.”
