Links between interns and Labour from April

The Labour Party has tried to distance themselves from the fellowship/intern scheme that was advertised internationally in February as a Labour Party scheme.

Here are profiles from LinkedIn that show that the interns were working with Labour in a number of electorates in Auckland possibly as far back as April.

Geneva M. May 2017 – present: “Campaign for the New Zealand Labour Party in the new Zealand 2017 elections”.

Matthew Kelly: Campaign Fellowship New Zealand Labour party May 2017 – present: “Campaign staffer responsible for efforts in the Mangere district of South Auckland.

Three state campaigning from April 2017 – present. One of them states they were using the Labour Party campaign software so must have been given access to that.

Campaigning in the Epsom, Maungakieke and Mt Roskill electorates:

With access to the Labour Party campaign software and campaigning in a number of electorates the interns/fellows must have contact with people in Labour other than Matt McCarten.

The next post will show that they associated with Labour MPs and candidates – and with Labour leader Andrew Little.

Thank you for your work in highlighting this hypocritical issue by Labour, Pete. You are one of the few media outlets giving this issue the attention it deserves. I am disgusted by the fact that MSM has all but ignored this fiasco but not surprised.

    Pete
As you continue to do the job journalists are supposed to do, and to show the details that prove Labour has been very economical with the truth, I wonder how many people’s “nothing to see here” quotes will come back to haunt them. Many of those “reporters” have already been shown to be nothing more than biased cheerleaders and repeaters. Ms Bradford’s wail could end up being their epitaph
I hope you are keeping a folder as it will give you untold future posts.

    Nice work PG! As I posted a few days back the timeline is still looking like;

*McCarten and some others in Labour come up with the intern idea earlier in the year/maybe as far back as the end of last year.
*A ‘mystery backer’ bankrolls it some time before the scheme is launched.
*Advertised overseas as early as Feb as a Labour party initiative.
*As you mention in this post interns start arriving as early as April, and it’s still a Labour party initiative.
*Auckland Labour MPs and candidates are involved as that is where the interns are working. At least three of these people have been named by the interns thus far (Helen White etc)
*In May more interns arrive and it’s now that problems occur (as confirmed by Little on Q&A)with the scheme that if publicized would make Labour look bad – especially considering their recent immigration/boarding housing stances.
*Rather than deal with the problems the Labour party goes into cover-up mode, cuts MCCarten loose with the project, rename it and pretend it’s a non-partial ‘get out and vote’ initiative rather than a ‘vote Labour’ one run by the Labour party.
*With Labour cutting themselves off from the scheme conditions & disorganisation only worsen for the interns.
*June sees the scheme hit the news with some interns complaining. Sometime in May or June the students are encouraged to sign non-disclosure agreements.
*Little and the Labour party pretend it is not their scheme and through the media say that it is a ‘rogue element’ in the Auckland region operating separate to Labour HQ that is to blame. The media spin is that Labour HQ have only just found out about the problem in the past week and as soon as they did they ‘did the right thing’ in dealing with the issue ASAP. Kirton contradicts Little’s later Q&A statement by saying they only learnt of any issues with the scheme in mid-June, not as far back as May.

You’re right – dodgy backdoor dealings are just ‘business as normal’ for the left.

    • Add to the timeline: From Friday 23rd June onwards, Matt McCarten is repeatedly thrown under the bus as the Labour leadership, Labour MP’s and Labour Head Office at Fraser House distance themselves from him. That, of course, ignores the fact that the taxpayer was paying McCarten’s salary from Little’s leader’s budget from August 2016 onwards, when he changed roles.

At least Andrew Little looks straight at the camera unlike Bill English whose eyes were flickering everywhere pointing to a person under high stress, due to saying porkies

        • Andrew Little does NOT present as an alternative leader when he’s being exposed as less than honest and upfront and seemingly passing the buck for stuff ups on this sort of monumental scale. It won’t go away until it’s subjected to a goodly amount of analysis.

One of the big questions which will dog analysts in the future when they discuss the 2017 Election is just how much was Labour paying Blazer to downtick comments and disrupt various blogs.
