I heard in the house, that mr E stated ‘National are governing for all NZers’
“What a Load of CRAP !”.. they are governing purely for self-interest & the 50.1% who put them in power.

Labour challenged it with increased figures of : Unemployed, homelessness & the longer hospital waiting lists. To which the Finance minister tried to rebutt the figures & deny that they were accurate. He even went as far as to say that this Govt. is doing more to help these folks..
*by offering the biggest tax cuts to the wealthiest ?

One thing is certain to my mind; B-S is still B-S.. regardless of the Bull its coming out of & Natz are really leading that charge ! 😦

All governments feed smug BS & misinfo Zedd – It’s just that the ones we vote for feed BS & lies we prefer to hear.
NZ Unemployment is close to, if not the best rate in the western world at under 5% and has fallen significantly since the GFC. It was lower under Labour during the excesses in the lead up to GFC, but unemployment was already rising strongly prior to Labour leaving office.
Hospitals are performing far more operations per capita than ever before and health spending is up on a per capita basis every year Nats have been in office.
Homelessness seems to be an issue when National get in and it miraculously disappears from the headlines when Labour gets in – I doubt the numbers change.
There are always lies, damned lies and statistics Zedd and every story can be given a twist.

I remember Labour turning up with cameras to a house where people were supposedly living in a tent on the lawn. The annoyed occupants were decorating and moving the furniture out as they did the rooms -what a good idea-and were not impressed to be treated as homeless paupers.

Working for Families mainly Blazer. But threshold changes on the lowest tax rates also helps – even if you’re on a benefit.
And they stuck it to the rich by increasing abatement levels so if you earn a bit, you love the payments.

I don’t think they’re doing enough for the real downtrodden tbh….the unsophisticated, gullible, naive, whatever …need more protec tion from loan sharks, landlords and greedy employers.

I have sympathy for your view Blazer, but there are definitely those that cannot be helped.
Rules have been significantly tightened over interest rate disclosure, who money can be lent to, security requirements and repayment terms. Rules don’t stop a lot of the ratbags though, and catching them is not easy.
Education is the key in this – but you still see wealthy and well educated people being ripped off by Nigerian princes, so being scammed can be an equal opportunity pass time.
In Australia BMW had to write off $72 m because it provided vehicle finance to people who couldn’t afford it. They were not allowed to enforce the loans – that sort of thing over here would teach some lessons pretty quickly!

      yes brilliant show 🙂

      Nobel prize deserved (literature) for Zimmy’s great poetic lyrics;

‘Johnny’s in the basement mixing up the medicine, I’m on the pavement think about the Govt…. a man in a coonskin cap in a pigpen, wants 11 dollar bills, you only got 10..’

‘& the pumps dont work, coz the vandals took the handles !’ 😀
