Kim Hill has one hour devoted to her hero Jo Cox. Her show is booooring.

Sounds like Kim Hill got a fair bit of negative feed-back.

      How do you know?

She read out the texts that followed the interview. I was only half listening but most, if not all were pejorative.

I find her a bit of a foghorn to listen to for any extended period of time, tbh, but I don’t listen much to radio these days, or watch much telly.

I don’t watch much telly. Too much of celebrities abusing their positions in the spotlight to lecture the public.

            • I like Kim Hill. She normally gets the balance right. Haven’t listened to the Joe Cox though.

She’s filled in on Morming Report fabulously. She doesnt remotely give the left the free pass that Guyon does.

Turei: “Over five years, I received a training incentive allowance (a benefit that has since been ditched by our current government), as well as a payment for single parents. I also had help from my family, and my daughter’s father’s family.”

No mention of the father contributing ANY money to her, I suggest the whole truth is not being told as she continues to avoid the question regarding not naming the father so the govt could make him pay his fair share, and reduce her benefit accordingly.

Does she expect us to believe she had a good relationship with the father through all those years without him contributing one cent to his daughter’s upbringing?

Is telling a half-truth worse than not telling at all in the first instance?

There’s an old joke insult : “You know, when I first met you, I didn’t like you very much, but, iI’d just like to say that, nowI’ve gotten to know you better – I hate you!”

I’m getting that way with Metz. People doing what she did is what causes benefit cutbacks.

      • Exactly…..”From each according to his ability, to each according to his need” was the Socialists early cry. Metz is not living by that motto at all and ripped the system. Nor are most socialists any more as they ignore “according to his need” bit – instead its tell a sob story and the wallet should be opened….

Pisses me off – I paid Child Support and never tried to avoid the responsibilities of being a Dad. Csupp avoidance makes Ms Turei and the father of her child are nothing more than thieves in my eyes…

There was nothing stopping the dads family helping out but he should have been named and paid his share of the tax payer benefits that Ms Turei claimed from us all via our agent the government

        Her reasoning for admitting she defrauded the taxpayer was that a woman committed suicide after WRONGLY being accused of benefit fraud………go figure. Logic suggests she hasn’t come totally clean at all;

*She pays money to the child.
*The taxpayer pays money to the child.
*The father’s family pay money to the child.
*Her family pays money to the child.
*The father of her child pays zero money to the child.

She has a great relationship with the dad and the reason she didn’t name him was so he wouldn’t be ‘hassled’ by the govt to pay his kid. It is obvious to everybody he would have contributed to his daughters care so someone needs to ask Turei directly about this as her solo mother’s benefit was paid to her in the belief that the father was contributing no money to her.

If by some miracle she says the father paid not a cent towards their child then the next question should be if she was so ‘poor’ why didn’t she get him to do so?

Now that the father is known, I would also think they’d be going him for child support.

I do question, given the breathless Barclay coverage, why no media have tracked down the son of Ann Hartley or her and asked them if they gave any support to the child/grandchild. Why this woman has always had a free pass is a mystery, I have only once heard her in a multi party discussion on RNZ and I was distinctly unimpressed with her giggling immaturity.

      • Don’t hold your breath. These two instances highlight the moral subjectivism of the media. Disgraceful

Yep – real journalism is dead in this country. Regardless, as it stands Turei has admitted stealing money from the taxpayer and also enabled the father of her child to avoid his financial responsibilities to that child for 18 years. Somehow it is all the taxpayer’s fault however.

I would like to know if he started paying her child support after she came off the DPB where the money would have come direct to her and not to offset the cost to the taxpayer.

Strangely enough Paul Hartley seems to be the missing family member on FB.
