    Breaking: Aljazeera tv newsbrief:

Woke up with a start! Had left the telly on …

Horrifiedto hear the news that my brave little guy, Press Pug, Sean Spicer ๐Ÿถ โค๏ธ – Trump’s Principal Press Secretary & staunch defender – has resignedโ—๏ธ

Something was said about him being unhappy about the appointment of some chap called Antony Scarramucci or some godforsaken name like that! I didn’t hear the rest, if there was any. My ears were ringing, heartbeat all over the place, pounding in my head it was suddenly like looking out at the room thru some other person’s eyes! Things were swirling, everything was in slow motion…

    Shattered here! ๐Ÿ˜ฏ A blubbering mess! ๐Ÿ˜ญ

Fear not! ๐Ÿ‘Œ Will pull myself together & somehow struggle on bravely before you all rouse yourselves from your dreams & burst into tears when you hear the news. โ˜น๏ธ

    I always doโ—๏ธ ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿผ ๐Ÿ’‚ ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ ๐Ÿ€
    That is all.

I genuinely liked the guy, PG. In a role normally so full of shallow-sounding, smooth-talking, plastic patter-speakers, he always seemed so genuinely human. I’ll miss him.

And whoever replaces him will have to be the kind of person who likes surprises ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

        • Yeh, he did seem human – and seemed to struggle with being put in a hopeless situation trying to speak on behalf of a president who seems to want to say everything for himself via Twitter and not via his spokespeople, who have been put on the spot and contradicted by him repeatedly.

I had to give you an uptick for that, JB. Not bad at all, and for a Lefty pretty good so here’s encouragement. As for poor old Sean, hope for an easier life out of the front line war zone.

I liked Spicey, too. He often gave that ” I’m stuffed which ever way I go, look.” Of course that’s because he was stuffed from the beginning whichever way he went..

Well, from what I’ve seen, T-Rex Tillerson & Mad Dog Mattis, to my surprise, have grasped the essence of their jobs, have good judgement, are top picks, & Trump’s gone & undercut them at times & made them look stupid. They won’t put up with that for long.

        • Missy

           /  July 23, 2017

No surprise to me that Mattis has grasped the essence of his job, he is a General of great experience and a lot of respect, not just in the US but internationally as well.

Here is the Jacob Rees-Mogg post of the day, The Jacob Rees-Mogg guide to being a not so modern father via the Telegraph.

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/men/fatherhood/jacob-rees-mogg-guide-not-so-modern-father/

And yes I admit, I do have a bit of a crush on JRM, so gentlemanly but with a sense of humour, and some good Conservative (and Brexit) values. โ˜บ๏ธ

      I like Nige’s show. He’s a character, is Nige.

I’m starting to question your taste in men Missy……..

    • Missy

       /  July 22, 2017

G, Nige is a character, some days I like him, others I think he is a twat!

PDB, are you casting aspersions on the Mogg? He is a proper English gentleman.

Well, Winston’s a character too Missy. I like characters. Esoecially those who’ve got a sharp wit, a strak of hypocrisy a mile wide they either don’t see, or even worse, they do – but they don’t care – or who make me larf with an occasional bitingly incisive quip. That doesn’t mean I don’t see their flaws, & certainly doesn’t mean I’d either vote for the buggers or want them as my Prime bloody Minister! ๐Ÿ˜€

          Agree with you there G.

I will say the best way to wind up a lefty here is to praise Nige. ๐Ÿ˜€

             /  July 23, 2017

PS: In my personal opinion, & contrary to a remark by someone else who shall remain nameless, you seem to have rather good taste in the sort of men you seem to like! ๐Ÿ˜˜

            • Missy

               /  July 23, 2017

              Cheers G, ๐Ÿ˜˜

Some people (who shall remain nameless) are probably just jealous. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I don’t follow Trump that closely (standing at the back of a brawl), but the Sean Spicer thing makes me wonder about the six (or ten) dumbest things smart people do. One of them is believing your own press secretary? I heard the new guy praise Trumps instincts.

    • Gezza

       /  July 22, 2017

Man, what a coincidence. So does Trumpy.

You don’t have to get a TV subscription or pay for a ticket at the entrance to the Big Top, the show is free for all.

One of the next acts is Anthony Scaramucci, formerly a hedge fund manager and Goldman Sachs banker, a former Wall Street financier. In his turn the billionaire will swing from the trapeze, smile left, right, and all around, and tell us how the draining of the swamp is going.

It won’t be a long session, he has to get off to the welcoming shindig with all the other Wall Street insiders in the administration. Hopefully they’ll be up off the floor from their rolling and frolicking and chortling and laughing..

That’d be the same orange shit-gibbon who’s now investigating whether he has the constitutional authority to issue “presidential” pardons to himself and his family… hardly the actions of an innocent man.

I said when trump put Sessions forward as Attorney General that he was a bad’un…

Turns out Sessions might be exactly that – a bad’un…

Fresh from the WaPo, Sergey Kislyak told his superiors in Moscow he talked about campaign-related matters and significant policy issues during two meetings with Sessions, according to current and former US intelligence officials. The ambassadorโ€™s accounts of the meetings โ€“ which US spy agencies intercepted โ€“ directly contradict Sessions’ claims.

You biggest character flaw, Sir Alan, is your modesty, if I may be so bold.

Any time my wife needs assistance in identifying my character flaws we will call on you, Sir Gerald.

My greatest asset is my ability blithely to ignore such assessments.

No 2 on my list, Sir Alan. May I have your good lady’s email address?

            • Alan Wilkinson

               /  July 22, 2017

Certainly, Sir G. I’ll send it by pukeko mail.

I would have thought the stream of politically motivated leaks from those these two appointed were a lot more disgraceful but I doubt either Brennan and Clapper would recognise morality if they fell over it.
