Mikey Hosking painted a great picture of New Zealand this morning. From people raving about the difference Auckland’s new road tunnel has made, to our booming apple industry.
One texter told Mikey his commute time was down to 20 minutes from 40. Mikey opined that tunnel will be saving our nation millions, and that we need less bus lanes and more roads.

In 2010 I cut out 1100 Granny Smith Apples. I shed no tears. An obnoxious apple to pick, with an equally obnoxious taste ( in my opinion). I had my Solo Chainsaw going for broke. Next, the orchardist decided the Reds would go. Then he decided he would go, and sold up.

Now orchardists cannot get enough trees to keep up with demand. The new varieties are super sweet. I quantum leap in flavour. Only Fuji, from previous apple varieties can complete with the newer ones.

And that’s going to be a problem down the road. All you taste is sweetness and nothing else.

Some of these new varieties have a Brix of 18 plus. At least Fuji’s and Grannies had a signature taste.

The Greens are still pushing for light rail or similar from the airport to the central city even though the tunnel has made the need for that redundant.

I’ll get back to you in 2057 to tell you whether a tunnel out towards the west was the answer for access to the airport which saw others justifiably called redundant.

A symptom of old age, mine anyway, is noticing the names of the boys in the local rep. rugby team. Sam was in the 25, well done Sam. Amongst those with him are Levon, Kahrn, Snowden, Jolami, Boston, Layken, Kian, Zealin, Kobie, Mouhnir, Kyson, Esmonde and Kahleah.

    Bill and Peter missed out.

Kharn is like a dog’s name. Several of those sound more like the Police Dog Squad than a rugby team. Who’d name their child Levon or Layken ? Kian sounds like a car-I’ve just bought a Honda Kian.

I know someone whose relation named her son Tommy-not Thomas, Tommy-because their surname is Gunn and mummy dear thought that it would be really funny to hear people referring to him as Tommy Gunn. This seems a poor reason to choose a name for a child.

There was a Josh Rogan in the birth notices a while ago.

Here’s one for people who think I’m nuts for not wanting Muslims in thIs country. Unbelievable. Even the middle-class journo ‘got it’ unlike some on this site.
This clip was never aired…Hmmm, I wonder why.

      That is devoid of logic.

What about the three girls who attacked a man in Hamilton and killed him ?

The description of that incident is a distortion-it’s a brawl outside a courtroom with punches coming from both sides.Political correctness is irrelevant here. I saw what looked like Australians throwing punches.

If the only assaults in Australia were by Muslims, you might have a point. How many Kiwis have been killed in Australia by Australians ?

There have been scenes like this outside courtrooms in NZ-and in all countries, I imagine. .

‘That is devoid of logic’.. Of course it is. They even used an unspecting brother to carry the bomb. If they can do that to their own blood, what will they do to you. Oh, that’s right, they will kill you…Infidel.

The IRA did that and worse. They forced soldiers to drive vans with bombs through the streets , knowing that the soldiers had no option. It was drive like a maniac to the barracks and hope that you arrived in time to drive it into the bomb pit which were built because of this. Not all did make it.

You must have heard of what the IRA did and how many people were killed. by them..but I bet that you don’t expect that every Irish Catholic you meet was involved.

Being a Muslim is not a race-something that you seem not to realise.
