Q+A – Shaw speaking for the Greens

This will be interesting on Q+A this morning (it turned out not to be very interesting).

So far Shaw has supported Turei’s actions and stance on the beneficiary issue. Will Mutch give that much of an examination?

Shaw fully backed Turei and the Green stance. He said a bunch of other stuff but I drifted off. A couple of impressions.

The Greens have made a big thing about how upfront and honest and transparent Turei had been, but she didn’t front up on Q+A (she is on Marae instead). So Shaw had to answer for her and defend her, which he did.

On Shaw overall – like Andrew Little he has been very disappointing and has failed to measure up as a leader.

To me Shaw looks like a political wimp. Alongside a lame duck co-leader this doesn’t auger well for the Greens’ election prospects and beyond.

Shaw has managed to fool himself but I doubt he will fool too many others.

Shaw could well end up as collateral damage the longer Turei hangs around tarnishing the brand.

      • To me, he’s as weak and drippy as dish water. I’ve never remotely understood his appeal. There’s men and women of substance in that party and Shaw and Turei are not them.

What would be your preferred leadership team for the Greens?

I feel sorry for him to be honest. I mean who really believes he was actually keen for THIS to happen? Not, me I can tell you that much. Poor beggar.

Of course he is in shock. But that he didn’t tell Turei either she went or he went shows he is not up to the job. They should both go, but Turei first.

So who is lying about who made the Turei decision not to put her name up for any future ministerial role? Either the Greens or Labour are telling porkies; the Greens in order to save face and Labour in pretending that Ardern made it an ultimatum.
