  1. Some people can cut through BS very simply. Judge Judy is one of them. A very rich one I might add

I find judge Judy quite loud and obnoxious and an affront to the legal system. She has turned the court into an entertainment circus with her as the star.

She’s a model of decorum compared to Judge Rinder.

    • She understands the baseness and greed of the human condition and she spots a bullshitter a mile off

We are put on Earth to make as much money as possible and be entertained.

They use courts and law to do that, a perfect mix. It might be an “affront to the legal system” but there are affronts aplenty to all sorts of systems including some more important than JJ’s dabbling.

      • Perhaps duperez, but this new category is in order to : “have a thread for the more lightweight stuff like music and general chat.

Myaybe you can take your “affronts aplenty to all sorts of systems including some more important than JJ’s dabbling” to Open Forum. I certainly agree you’re correct

    • You do understand that everyone signs up to this process don’t you. They elect to undergo the format 😣

I dislike trials of any kind being used as entertainment.

I am typing with the dog on my knee, friendly but awkward. I’m glad that he’s not a Great Dane.

Someone gave me a John Grisham last year, and I had a look to be polite, Instant addiction. I had always assumed that these were ‘popular fiction’, i.e. nothing that I would want to read unless there was nothing else-I am such a biblioholic that I always have a book in my handbag. At the moment it’s Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, a reread so that I don’t mind breaking off…how Dr Frankenstein didn’t see the consequences coming is a mystery, but if he had, there’d be no story, I suppose.

I think that Lady Chatterley’s Lover is one of his less good works from a literary point of view-it’s too didactic.

Some poor person had to count all the’ ‘fucks’ and ‘cunts’ in it. As these were 40 each-a suspiciously round number-I wonder if they actually did this, or did x pages and multiplied the total, knowing that nobody would check.

Try Sons and Lovers for starters-but NOT Kangaroo, which is not one of his best works, either.
