Watching the Black Ferns..what a quantum leap in athleticism from women athletes. This was brought home to me this weekend as I watched kids play ripper rugby. The athleticism shown by some girls was phenomenal. As usual the Island boys were the biggest, and could probably have played two level up, but they were match in speed and dynamism by some girls

I wonder if hormones in our food have anything to do with it.? One of my suspicions was confirmed. At half time the girls were talked to by their fathers. These dads all had great builds. No doubt they had surfed the internet for training techniques; for themselves and their kids. No way were they going to let being female stand in the way of their daughters being great athletes.

When I was at school girls wore rompers; screamed and giggled when they missed the ball, and ran in some strange knock knee fashion.

And in another first, the army is doing something I have argued for many a time….women will be able to apply for SAS selection.

Long overdue. Women bring different skill sets. They are natural born killers once their maternal instinct is channelled differently, and they relate better to other women, that being the reason for opening up selection. We can thank Muslim countries for this fortuitous change in policy

You have to bring Muslims into just about everything, don’t you ? It’s become an obsession. Do you blame them for global warming, the increase in obesity and the number of people who die because they don’t wear seatbelts ?

Don’t be a silly billy. Take a breath and put your bias to one side. The reason I mentioned Muslims was because it was germane to our policy of opening up SAS selection for females.

”Do you blame them for global warming, the increase in obesity and the number of people who die because they don’t wear seatbelts ?”

Now you are being silly again, Get a life. If I wanted to bring Muslims gratuitously into the picture I would have done that in the WorldWatch thread with my reply to Thumbs.

This is the pot calling the kettle black Corky.

It is a very sensible idea to allow females to serve in the SAS, they bring a slightly different skill set and half the people in the world are female so from the intelligence gathering point of view it would be useful.

In the movie Whisky Tango Foxtrot, based on the memoir of a female journalist in Afghanistan, the US as party of its recovery program had built a well for a village but it kept getting blown. This as blamed on the Taleban but in reality the women were blowing it up because they preferred the walk to the river because it was the only time they were allowed out without the men. Who found this out a woman.

You are just repeating what I said with some obscure story at the end. My reply to Kitty was apt and transparent.

There was no pot calling the kettle black. I just stated a fact as per the news report on TV.

As you have such a bee in your bonnet about Muslims and tend to believe anything about them as long as it’s bad, it wouldn’t surprise me if you DID do this.

Is there such a thing as a mainstream NZ newspaper that is even remotely ‘right-wing’? The Dom-post could be mistaken for ‘The Communist Times’ whist the Herald isn’t too far behind.

What left-wingers are really complaining about is that the left-wing MSM isn’t even more extremist left-wing to the point of hammering the govt (unjustly or not) 24 hours a day, every day of the week.

Do you remember what govt funded organization (if true) gave money to fund Labour’s intern rort? No? Neither do I because the MSM in this country didn’t even bother to find out. What were those burning questions Turei was given in writing that forced her to resign? We don’t know because once she resigned the questions were buried never to be seen allowing her to continue playing the victim. If that was John Key instead of Turei the story WOULD have been those questions he refused to answer and would have been splashed in all their glory on the front pages of most newspapers.

My old man used to say that the Herald might as well call itself The Daily Worker and have done.

To be fair, the questions asked would almost certainly have been confidential-if you mean the WINZ ones-so couldn’t be made public..

No, the questions she didn’t answer and resigned rather than answer were put to her by RNZ and came from information apparently sourced from the father of her child’s side of the family who were not happy in being portrayed as not doing anything to financially support Turei’s daughter.

I have read that the family were very hurt at the way they were said to have not given her and the baby-their relation !!!-any support of any kind. It was certainly implicit, as she kept saying that she had no support and was ‘financially independent’. (I won’t make the obvious comment about that)

I imagine that this must have strained a few relationships between her and family on both sides :-/

I thought that you might mean the qs put to her by WINZ.

if you have evidence of any crime regarding this allegation of an ‘intern rort’…present it to the authorities.
