Shane Jones has been placed at 9 on the NZ First party list, which probably outs him behind all the current MPs standing again.
So far named (by RNZ):
- Winston Peters
- Ron Mark
- Tracey Martin
- Fletcher Tabuteau
- Shane Jones
Jones will need NZ First to get 7.5-8% to get in if he doesn’t win the Whangarei electorate, which looks unlikely.
RNZ: Shane Jones placed 9th in list ranking
High profile New Zealand First candidate Shane Jones has been ranked at number nine on the party’s list.
New Zealand First Party president Brent Catchpole told Checkpoint with John Campbell there was not any discussion that Mr Jones might like to go higher on the list.
Mr Catchpole said Mr Jones appeared to have no problem being put at number nine.
There are about 57 in total on their list.

/ 28th August 2017That’s how most of the public see them. I have searched but can’t find the full list, I’ll fill in the gaps when I can.
I think the lists had to be submitted by today.

/ 28th August 2017On current polling G, you’ll be pleased to know that both Mr Peters & Mr Jones will have a seat in Te Whare, even if neither of them win an electorate. 😛

/ 29th August 2017Current polling don’t make no never mind, patu. Polling on the day & specials are what matter.
Never mind what might say on the Party website. What’s Winston’s policy on the Maori seats again? First I heard last year it was poll of the Maori electorates only, confirmed to me by email by Pita Paraone, their Maori Affairs wallah.
Then Winston cynically announced recently it had changed & the pakeha rednecks get a say in it via a general referendum.
And the last I saw in the papers, he was supposedly having another think about it, presimably because a few Maoi who had been bullshitted that it was to be Maori-only might tell him to fuck off come election day?
I’m sorry if this offends you, because I really like & respect you – but I wouldn’t vote for this devious, self-serving prick if you paid me.
