West Auckland principals are complaining the doings of the fictional West family from Outrageous Fortune is causing families to ship their children out of zone from West Auckland to other schools.

Why principals should be upset is beyond me. Any parent using a TV programme for making a very important life decision probably means their genetic gifts passed to their children wont be great.

That said, Westies do have a certain ‘spice’ to them. Paula Bennett and John Tamihere are known to go feral on occasions.

White flight is nothing new. Bullying and poor learning environments are major drivers. And I agree with these parents. In our PC society , it isn’t cool to be white. And white kids are made aware of that in no uncertain terms.

What’s not mentioned is brown flight. Yes, Maori for decades have removed their children from Pakeha environments and sent them to Maori focused schools. These parents hold sporting prowess above intellectual pursuits. Results are mixed, and unfortunately most Maori schools are pale reflections of their former selves.

Yep, Maori for decades have removed their children and sent them to Maori focused schools. It’s just that in 2017 we call them Charter Schools. That’s why those in the Pakeha environment of Epsom are championing them so much.

Talking of the Tamihere whanau, it’s looking like there are major concerns around David Tamiheres conviction.

Words not to use at your next job interview … For all yous experts.

    Expert
There’s a common theory that it takes around 10,000 hours of practice to become an expert in a skill or topic. Now you know that, would you still consider yourself an expert?

Yesterday Pete George was critical of the abusive comments that appear on Kiwiblog and the very light moderation of that blog.

I wonder what he thinks of the “Face of the Day” image posted on Whaleoil today.

I still think my policy is, essentially, sound, although it does require a fair bit of sailing close to wind at times. However, Corks no longer hassles me due his knickers being exposed too often having tried it, so I think I’ll leave it to my best judgement, & the occasional grump from blogdad to guide me in these matters ?

    CORKY GOES TO TOWN.

So I went to the supermarket. Near the trolleys, before you enter, is an anti bacterial soap dispenser. I watched as those with an air of superiority dutifully wiped their hand to get rid of any RIFF RAFF germs. After finishing, they then proceeded to push their trolleys into the entrance. I so desperately wanted to yell: ” You should observe how a surgeon scrubs up.” Of course that would have been lost on them.

Next stop- a service station. Oh, no. A line of 12 people with the other checkout closed. I proceeded to the closed checkout, where upon a smart arse sniggered ” Ya wont get service there, mate. Read the sign. Muffled sniggers and eye rolls from onlookers ensued. Five seconds later I was being served, while a line of sour onlookers scowled. I decided not to rub it in.

Sniff… no wonder politicians love this country. The population just don’t know how to think!

I was on ARANUI 5 in French Polynesia last year and all over the ship were hand gel dispensers, better to use them than crapping your holiday out the rear end, I think Corky…

Read my post again, and figure out why its a waste of time sanitising your hands at the supermarket. The surgeon is a clue.

If the sanitiser is on the way in, then they are dutifully washing off their OWN germs.

No, Einstein..the people reinfected their hands when they touched the trolley handle again.

Similar to home when you do No2’s. You turn the faucet on, wash your hands thoroughly, then turn the faucet off and reinfect your hands.

So much for the germ theory. A theory that was hotly contested early last century. It’s not the only theory about how a human body can become ill.

Yeah well, DUH…, but what Riff Raff germs are they washing off before they get a trolley?
You’re still just projecting stupid on them to make yourself feel better about yourself.
