    Bits and pieces:

1-Mikey is crook today. Maybe he’s been given a heads up on the latest political polls.

2-It had to happen. Maori signing up to the statue removing movement. The first target for Maori ire is some colonial dude called Marmaduke Nixon who is accused of being a murdering brute. In other words a completely normal soldier for his times. Especially as natives were considered animals. This is a natural progression of revisionist history promulgated by Orange et al.

If we want to go down this track, lets pull down Taranaki poua ( statues of ancestors) for what this murdering lot did to Moriori

3- Richard Branson will repair to his wine cellar when the storm hits his Virgin Island residence. He reckons he and his staff will drink plenty of wine. It’s hard to imagine a Leftie doing similar.

4- New Zealand is rated the third most beautiful country in the world. I personally think No2-Canada- is the best. Some of their forest and mountain vistas are beyond compare.

No 2. 1ewes covered this issue. There seemed to be mixed opinions. One Maori-looking dude said it was part of our history but he thought an additional monument (or maybe plaque) should added to show:

“In February 1864, Nixon took 1500 colonial troops into the village of Rangiaōwhia where elderly men, women and children were living. Nixon was shot and his troops set alight the town church, killing 12 people who were hiding inside.”

How Did North Korea’s Missile and Nuclear Tech Get So Good So Fast?

An interesting question. My theory is the big panda across the river

I by chance heard the Whaler with Mitch Harris on the radio last night. Harris must have been told to challenge any of the Whalers more contentious opinions.

So when the topic of Muslims came up, Mitch lost the plot, along with what sounded like a Muslim posing as a Christian caller( my guess).

It just reaffirmed may perception of how ignorant average Kiwis are regarding Islam. The Whaler tried to explain to Mitch….but Mitch trotted out all the excuses of hyped up non thinkers… most Muslims aren’t terrorists, that hasn’t happened in New Zealand, that’s racism. These pat objections showed Harris had no idea.

    God help us.

Meanwhile in our beautiful sanctuary, I arose early this morning. The council kerb sweeping truck was about as I took a power walk. The driver had a fag hanging out his mouth. I removed a road sign that had fallen into his path. He called out ” Cher Bro”. A cat crossed the road as dawn faded. An elderly lady tottered around her rose garden. Workers started going to and from work.

Damn, how lucky am I…how lucky are you!

I feel pretty lucky. Mainly cos the sun’s out – about freakin time. Had about 8 straight days of grey skies & rain. Thunderstorm early hours this morning. Just a tiddler tho.

We had one last night, not a major one, thank goodness-I don’t know what time it was. The dog went ballistic at it, and it stopped after a while, upon which he lay down again and went to sleep-a job well done. He’ll learn thunder to come to HIS town,

. It’s been gorgeous and sunny all day apart from two very short, sharp showers.

Has anyone ever had Flip as asn ISP ? I am tiring of Orcon. It was incompetent when it was run from here, all right when it was run from Manila and now is forever cutting out and the wifi is a distant memory since the new modem arrived.

That’s why you need to stop whining and be thankful for the soft easy western life style you enjoy- EVERYDAY.!

Talking of Ponzi schemes, Jachinda is offering voters that. Whoa! Wait. I got that wrong. To have a Ponzi scheme you have to have money…or people with money. Jacinda wont have any of that for the first three years should she become leader of our beautiful sanctuary. Neither will we,son.
