Joyce v Robertson finance debate tonight

Stuff are streaming a finance debate from 7:00 pm between Grant Robertson and Steven Joyce. This may be challenging for Robertson in particular after today’s tax u-turn.

Ok, I’m getting sick of it already, same old arguments flying to and fro.

Robertson has just interrupted Joyce about five times in a row stopping him from talking. Waste of time.

Joyce is still claiming there is a fiscal hole, but seems to have changed his slant somewhat.

That was good. Missed the first 13 minutes only seeing grom here thatbit was on at 7.07pm. Then farting around trying to get Stuff’s direct link to work on the FiP- no go! Even the lappy was tits on a bull. Chrome hung & I had to do a restart!

Meantime, I decided this time to just search Youtube, with cookies disabled, on the FiP, & git it & saw all the rest of the show!

It annoys me though that this is only an online debate! I’m not a total IT numpty. If I have trouble finding & watching it, presumably many others will too! What these two are arguing about is critical to whether they should get our votes!

Have heard 2 other debates between these two and Robertson is a rude arrogant fool with zero financial knowledge but is well media trained and his schtick is just to talk over the top, interrupt and make guffaw noises. Didnt even bother tuning in.

Yeah, but Joyce knows how to build up and run a successful business
After leaving university Joyce and a group of friends (including radio presenter Jeremy Corbett) started their own radio station, Energy FM, in New Plymouth.[4][5] With business partners, he built up RadioWorks over the next seventeen years, both organically and by acquisition, to a network of 22 radio stations and 650 staff. He retired as Managing Director of RadioWorks in April 2001, when CanWest purchased it, Joyce receiving $6 million for the sale.

Remind me what Grant has done?

How do you explain that he has had 9 years sitting on his chuff and still can’t even give a clear outline of his planned taxes.

I’m surprised they let Joyce out of his fiscal hole.

That didn’t quite come out right! I might come back with details later.
I need to find out what all this hullaballoo about Robertson’s turnaround is about!
