Just a quick check in. Am holidaying with the family on a road trip around England, just been in the Peak District – beautiful!

Another terrorist attacker in London this morning, this time on the tube. A homemade bomb was left on a district line train and timed to go off this morning during rush hour, from what I have seen up to 22 have been injured some serious, mostly burns.

      *terrorist attack, not attacker.

Update on this. 29 people have been injured but no injuries are life threatening, more were injured in the crush to get out of the station. The lack of serious injuries has been put down to the fact the bomb did not work properly.

and once again trump rushes in to condemn a terrorist attack abroad as the work of Islamist terrorists, speaking out before the facts are known even to local officials, just a day after he once again insisted he was right to cast blame on both sides after violence in Charlottesville

Remember him saying “I don’t want to go quickly and just make a statement for the sake of making a political statement. I want to know the facts.”

He uses one standard and speed when violence helps feed white-grievance politics, and another standard and speed when violence poses a threat to those politics

        • Is there any evidence pointing to the bomb having been planted by the local Anglican Church Vicar’s Tea Party Committee? I am sure the PM and Police will leave no stone unturned in their relentless efforts to pursue the possibility.

Also today a soldier was attacked by a knife wielding man in Paris, the police a treating it as a terrorist attack, and two women were attacked in Lyon by a man with a knife shouting Allahu Akbar.

One small correction, the two women in Lyon were apparently attacked with a hammer not a knife.

We might have councils that have no sense or reality and commit to spending large amounts of money on frivolous projects, but in the UK, one is committing $150M to save few birds that might not be there anyway.

Update on today’s attack. The terror threat level has been raised to critical, this is most likely because the perpetrator has not been caught – though he has been identified.

And further, though no doubt Pete will take its with a grain of salt and say that there is no evidence, ISIS have claimed responsibility for the attack.
