Peters: “Filthy Rumour, Dirty Campaign”

A press release from NZ First on Friday – odd that the quotes are not attributed to anyone, but the headline gives an indication who it is.

Peters: Filthy Rumour, Dirty Campaign

Filthy Rumour, Dirty Campaign

“I was approached by a senior journalist this afternoon, whose opening question was: How is your health?

“I made it very clear to him that if he, or any other party, thinks that spreading malicious rumours will not be met with the full force of the law available to me then he, and they, would be very mistaken.

It is unfair and unreasonable for anyone to make accusations or insinuations about any candidate standing for election where there is no proof available to back it up.

So please don’t make any such comments here.

Anything patently unfair and unsupported by facts, or anything that may put this site at legal risk, will be deleted.

“For the record, this has been a long campaign in which we have worked seven days a week and I am looking forward to enjoying political life after the election.

All party leaders in particular have had very hard and demanding campaigns, especially those of opposition parties who have been campaigning for months.

If NZ First are in a position where they are included in coalition negotiations after the election then political life may continue to be torrid for some weeks.

If negotiations are successful and NZ First is a part of the next government then the hard work will continue for three years.

“PS: I was warned some time ago that this would be the next line of vicious attack.”

That sounds similar to Peters’ claim he had been pre-warned about the super leak in advance – but he has produced no evidence.

My goodness, they will be going after his medical records next.

It seems there is now no level to which the MSM will not stoop.

I hope one of them steps over the line, and then Peters can nail them.

Nowdays many people have access to your medical records. Including the receptionist, local health board and government departments. Smart doctors make sure their records are under a false name

More likely Winston just trying to get himself in the headlines with no facts to go on. He has been a bit starved of publicity oxygen lately. And the press have been highlighting his stupid statements so his support base must be plummeting.

You have already allowed it Peter.

“Maybe the rumours about him [deleted, don’t repeat questionable comments] are true.”

    • I don’t see every comment and most comments post immediately as you know. I didn’t allow that, someone posted it. I’ve been out cutting gorse.

I find it very interesting that this so called story comes from ‘Scoop’. Wasn’t it them who first made allegations about his super?

Over at Kiwiblog there have rumours for ages that Winston has suffered every ailment known to man. Up until about 3 months ago there were many saying he was not likely to last until the election. Now they are saying he will not last 3 years.

PG I am glad to see you are not allowing it on this blog. If Winston had a stoke tomorrow there would be many over there celebrating. There common saying is it is different when the left do it.. Well there are some pretty nasty activists Nats on KB.

Over on Whaleoil the man himself for weeks has alleged English AND Ardern both have ailments. It was strange to see that he seemed to have a heads up on what was happening before Winston put the Press Release out! And yesterday about his leaked Super –

“There is one person in particular under the hammer, and I fully expect they will lose their job shortly. Someone is going to have to be thrown under the bus, especially when the papers are filed in court. National are already positioning that person for the fall, they just don’t know it yet.

If they don’t then coalition negotiations might get a bit testy”.

      • He has a history of implying, insinuating or claiming things that turn out to have no evidential basis or fizzle out. Sometimes it seems that he is trying to sound like he’s in the know, sometimes I get the impression he is trying to flush out or pressure some reaction. It’s part of his dirty politics repertoire.

Over the past few months he has been trying hard to campaign against National and for Winston, but he has failed to rally the Oilers in support of his agenda. There is an increasing amount of direct questioning of his claims and his motives.

      • After being challenged on days of allegations and claims of knowing, Slater has fallen back on “Occam’s razor says its National.”

If Winston Peters were to have an ailment it no doubt would be one of the manifold ones caught off Hillary Clinton. If the right bets were placed at the right time to do with her maladies enough money would have been made to pay for Obamacare, Trumpcare, Whocares, EveryoneCares and in fact any care for the next six generations. (How is she by the way?) 😊

I hope the downticks are because people mistook my getting at the lunacy around H Clinton’s health. That particular little wave of stories was one of the maddest things ever. Someone makes up a story, the malevolent spread it and the deranged, deluded and dumb believe it and spread it. Given what was said I was amazed to see her on TV recently, sans burial shroud.
