Last week of the election campaign

This is the last week of the campaign – thank goodness. I’m getting a bit over it. Too much nonsense and too much disappointing campaigning, especially from National and Labour, and that has been rewarded with media attention that has made it hard for smaller parties to get a chance.

You couold end it all today by casting an advance vote and then going bush for the week, or at least going funkstille.

But then we will have the aftermath, with endless excuses about why journalists didn’t guess the outcome.

And of course the coalition dance begins on Sunday, and may last for weeks. If NZ First are in the reckoning Peters has said he will decide by the time the official results are declared, which is October 7.
