    @ c

Will you be having a large party the day you remove the training wheels from your Powerfly, or will you treat it as just another ordinary working day? 😳

    STREAM UPDATE
Charlie has been fed in the patio where he assembled before takeoff.
The Pooks have been fed where all three were assembled just over the fence.
After running 6 inches higher, & brown & murky yesterday evening, following more rain during the afternoon, the stream is now running almost clear at this time.
Ella is on currentlty station among the tree roots down at the stump.

Charlie returned, with Prettygirl, to the patio & they had a cereal breakfast together, the eagle’s share of which was given to Girl. They were unable to pay their full tab for the last month, however Prettygirl left a deposit.

3 chunks of NZ lamb steak. Nothing but the best for my girl, Ella!

1st chunk – she came out immediately, sniffed the wai, found & ate it, swam up to the mallard drakes & dispersed them.

2nd chunk – went in level with her, but as she was swimming upstream after the drakes she seemed unaware it had settled on the bottom. A mallard drake hydroplaned over, dove, & got it, she went for him but he escaped, she did not pursue him.

3rd chunk – went in level with her (was intended for just ahead, but she did a speed burst) & she failed to detect it as it sank 6″ away, beside her head.
She did a large circle, raised her nostrils out of the water, looked directly at me, twice, and as she was returning to a hidey hole in her stump, suddenly Elvis rocked on up at a rate of knots from God knows where, got the chunk, there was an apparent disagreement between them, he retreated & stood off, circling at a safe distance for one minute, then departed ‘Ruawards.

      Ella returned to a hidey-hole.
I believe I have captured some of this action on cellvidcam. If so, after processing, it may be shown on YNZ in gif form in the General Chat theatre at some point.
      Thank you.
      That is all.

        UPDATE

        Stunning. Absolutely stunning!
Elderly Chinese neighbour. Loads of bread. For Ducks. Chunk after chunk.
Ella & Ducks, competing. No smell – so no Elvis.
20 minutes. Ella circling. Breaking surface constantly. Finds bread by feel with nose tip.
Mouth bigger than mine (Yes. Realise some would say impossible)
Sign language. Hand on heart. Deeply in love guestures to Chinese person of female persuasion – no spikka da Inglesi. Understood. “Beautiful”. “Ahh .. yes, beautiful”. ❤️ Neighbour cellcaming like crazy woman! (Probably Huawai 😠)

Simple pleasures. Best thing. Creator wonderful!
        Over & Out!

For Ella. No longer visible if on station as sun is making water around sandy bottom opaque.

Elvis is tucked in, facing upstream, under an overhanging ledge on the far parenga, 4m downstream from her stump. He thinks he’s invisible.

Unbelievable. Just as an experiment (string sound vibrations) I took a classical guitar down there. She must have been having a siesta, I called, but she wasn’t in sight. I stood at the water’s edge. And I played. Nothing but two ducks who were curious & swam up & hung around. Was about to leave, Ella came right out, & swam over, hovered directly below where I stood on te parenga, raised her head above water, listened for maybe 20 seconds, & slowly swam back into her stump.

Leave the prime lamb in the sun for a couple of days G. This may come as s surprise but eels are not human, they hunt by smell. Rotting morsels preferred

She has given me hours of delight today, c. Way more than Corks.
You could be right. I’ll check that though. They go for live prey. She bit one mallard drake on the bum. Right in front of me. Talk about laugh trevor.
But she does have trouble locating fresh meat without accompanying movement, if it doesn’t lsnd in front of her nose.
Circles, swims over it, sweeps the nostrils, stops, opens the mouth rhythmically to “taste ” te wai – stunning to watch this lady though.

Sometimes pays to check advice from the other source. Sharp wit there, likes the odd little practical joke I suspect.

Ma said on the blower this arvo, go down & see the butchers next time you’re in NW. See if they’ll give you their off-cuts. I might do that. Won’t tell them where I live though. Fair bet they’ll like smoked tuna. I do.

Considered one of Brazil finest guitarists. South American music on the whole seems to be overlooked. Carlos Santana is the nearest most folk get to anything with a Latin flair.

    @Possum
    Situation update
Hine. I said can she ask hubby if he’ll take the flymo, plus $500.
She said – does it come with fly buys? I said – if YOU want it to, Yes!
    So negotiations were underway immediately.
These established – Courtney is 31, so she and hubby have been married 33 years. He’s a pakeha. He tells her she’s gorgeous every day. He was in the Army before he joined the Prison Service. He’s a lovely man.

I said: I’ve got no show, have I?
“Nup.” She said. “He’s the jewel in the crown.” 😭

I know. The others were standing there laffing at us, this has been an adventure they’ve followed with interest. After she asked about the Fly Buys – over the automated checkouts – I said, Hey – you will TELL ME if he ever comes into the store when we’re discussing this, eh?
