      Aljazeera tv news:
Things just got interesting in Syria … blah blah
      Gezza / October 13, 2017
I might add that, before I fell down onto the sofa, due to never sleeping, and only came round about 4 pm – I heard a brief item also on that same news session that accusations are flying, (tho this is denied by President Al Abadi) the Iraqi Army is planning military action against the Kurdish forces in Northern Iraq – who are refusing to move out of the areas they have captured from ISIS in recent months, following the recent declaration of Iraqi Kurdish independence.”

      Aljazeera Update:

Iraqi Military says it has “taken control” of an airbase & two oilfields near Kirkuk.
There does not appear to be a full scale military assault, there are skirmishes.
There appears to be a split between Peshmerga forces, some of who have withdrawn & taken up new positions, and appear to intend to defend them
Reports are comng in that the Iraqi Army plans to surround the city.
A commentator said while the Kurds in Kirkuk voted overwhelmingly for independence in the recent referendum they do not want to be separated from Iraq.
Another commentator said recriminations are flying between Kurdish forces about why some abandoned their positions.
It’s a mess by the sound of it.
That last commentator also said the Iraqi government intends to deploy its forces throughout the country.

        Aljazeera Update

The Iraqi Government & Military in Baghdad say they have now taken full control of Kirkuk & all the oilfields.

Peshmerga forces have been seen withdrawing from the city & setting up new positions. There are reports of ongoing skirmishes, but nothing is confirmed.

This rout of the Kurdish forces is expected to cause fury within the Kurdish Regional Government which had apparently vowed to keep control of the city & its postions outside.
