I had to speed it up a bit to get the movement smoother. The gif maker only allows a very limited number of frames per second so the action can look a bit like an old hand-cranked movie, a bit jerky unless you ramp the playing speed up. I use a better gif from video site to make the first gif – same problem, but better quality gif. But it only hosts the gif for a few hours & then deletes it. So if I post one from that site, it’s not a broken link next day. What you can do, though, is copy the temporary gif link from there to the imgflip gif maker, & it’ll make a slightly more clunky one, that is permanent.

          * “So if I post one from that site, it’s not a broken link next day” – should say “it IS a broken link next day.” Soz. Hand/eye coordination not brilliant at the mo by the looks.

      Are you in Wellington?
Thought there was an initiative down there to make it predator free?

Just by the by, those are Chinese bread chunks she’s taking out.

      • I was very surprised to see a weasel prancing across the lake walkway path in front of me, pausing to give me an ‘old-fashioned look’ and vanishing into the undergrowth.Blooming cheek,

Was it a weasel or a stoat?

It was quite small and a yellowish-brown colour, so I think it was a weasel. I can’t remember if it had a black ,b>Tail, which would mean it was a stoaT. It was quite nonchalant, anyway.

A fine big weta came out of the papers that I keep for ‘drop-cloths’ today-I tipped it out of the window. I wouldn’t kill one of those for anything.

Decision; shall I do a first coat of the hall ceiling between wall coats or do it on two other days ? The cloths are down-the paint’s inside.-it’s a very small ceiling. The hall was lavender, but I was tired of it and it’s now cream as I had some cream paint already.

              Coin toss decision type here:
              Method
              1. Heads – today
              2. Tails – two other days
              3. Toss coin.
              4. Happy with decision?
              – Yes. Do it.
              – No. Do something else.

I saw some stuffed ones, and the weasel looked like what I saw-I’d be willing to say that he was a weasel. It’s a very odd colour, almost ochre.

It might have been a stoasel or a weat.

    • A while ago, a newspaper had ‘Man resurrects T-Rex, p 23.’ on the cover. I turned eagerly to page 23 or whatever it was, read it-nothing about T-Rex there. How disappointing. There was a story about a dinosaur, and I finally realised that that was the T-Rex story.

I’m happy to report that ‘Mousey’ is recovering quickly from his encounter with ‘Tui’ the cat. He has quickly forgotten who rescued him yesterday, and displays this by rolling on his back & biting my finger, whenever I attempt to pet him. As I told my two youngest yesterday, it is cruel to confine a wild animal. We’ve agreed that tomorrow night, we will set ‘Mousey’ free, from the same spot that I rescued him from, after locking the cats inside.

    • Another soppy person who frees mice….I do, too. My mousetrap is a purple net that I bought for $2 after testing them all to make sure that the circle was quite flat (so that lizards can’t run out from under it). It works wonderfully, even if the poor mouse is humiliated by being carried out in it with all the other mice around peeing themselves laughing.

There are a lot of little lizards around now.

    Ka kite, tamariki…

Keenan explains on the Amotion DVD how the song is about his mother Judith Marie Keenan, who suffered a stroke and was restricted to a wheelchair for the rest of her life, yet still believed in Christianity.

You’re such an inspiration for the ways
That I will never ever choose to be
Oh, so many ways for me to show you
How your savior has abandoned you

    Fuck your God
    Your Lord and your Christ
    He did this
    Took all you had and
    Left you this way
Still you pray, never stray, never
    Never taste of the fruit
    Never thought to question why

It’s not like you killed someone
It’s not like you drove a hateful spear into his side
Praise the one who left you broken down and paralyzed
He did it all for you

He did it all for you

Oh, so many ways for me to show you
How your dogma has abandoned you

Pray to your Christ, to your God
    Never taste of the fruit
    Never stray, never break, never
    Choke on a lie
Even though he’s the one who
    Who did this to you
You never thought to question why

    Not like you killed someone
It’s not like you drove a spiteful spear into his side
Talk to Jesus Christ as if he knows the reasons why
He did it all for you

He did it all for you
He did it all for you
