I think it is useful to look at the exiting National led governments and see how we have performed in terms of the hip-pocket.
How about Net income after tax from 2008 to 2017 (single adult no child)
2008 24th in the OECD US $23739 PPP
2016 19th in the OECD US $ 32585 PPP (latest data)

How about the last Labour government?
    Data available
    2000 17th in the OECD US$ 19497
    2008 24th in the OECD US$ 23739

If history is any guide. Expect to receive relatively less income after tax over the next three years.

its not useful in isolation at all, actually. The impact of ramped up rents and property prices and real inflation in the last 8-9 years will paint a picture that you will not like.

That’s why the relative rankings are very useful.

Provide some data please. Easy to make statements with nothing to back it up. That is why Labour got way with making throw away comments. Repeat it enough and people will start believing it. It’s an indictment on the education system that people are easy fooled.
The property price increases from 1999 to 2008 was greater than the last 9 years.

Real inflation was very low in the last 9 years.

John Frusciante made the Chilli Peppers. Now he’s gone they have lost the ability to sing songs like this and use harmony. Interesting song, It has more chord changes than a Labour Party policy announcement.

  4. You must all watch Fargo Season 2 if you haven’t.
