The one I feel sorry for is Pooky, Possum – the koro. He’s been happily munching away next to the ducks with no blimmin dramas for 3 years. Unless they tried to steal a grain or two from right under his nose. In which case it was one quick jab with the pointy end of his beaky-boo, and they stopped that nonsense immediately & everyone carried on dining together. 😦

But she’s bloody myopic. I’m sure of it. She thinks it was Poor Pooky. She now charges at him all the time. It freaks him out! He shrieks and runs away out of harm’s way. He’s a wreck.I’m having to give the poor beggar counselling! 🐻

Bluey turned up this Spring. At first I thought he was Violet. Then, apart from endlessly pestering Bluebelle for *you know what* & then running after her, competing with Pooky (the poor girl, she’s had two months of running through the underbrush trying to get away from the lechers), he’s actually a blimmin aggressive little beggar. Every time I turn my back he’s havin’ a go at Charlie! I reckon he’s the one who pulled out Girl’s hair in a surprise attack.

That’s really weird. I’m using the laptop at the moment. That paragraph above was in the middle of the other two. But when I use the characters to generate the heart emoji – for some reason it strips out the text in the the para that follows it. (This never happened under a National-led coalition – just saying.)

Ok … this is the third time the pukeko got the push out of the garden from Prettygirl. The first two times she totally went for him like a robber’s dog. This time she just threatens him with a little charge.

I couldn’t believe it the first two times she attacked him – I didn’t have my phone on me – so I ran back inside and took this clip looking out the dining room window in case the Pook took to the air to get away from her (It’s also why the windows got cleaned later on.)

One of them pulled some of her hair out. I’ve shown her the video of what the top of her head looks like. She’s gonna kill them both if she can! 😡

    Looks like Sessions perjured himself.

Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian interference in the election has entangled the attorney general. In his sworn testimony during his confirmation hearing in January, Sessions was asked by Senator Al Franken, “If there is any evidence that anyone affiliated with the Trump campaign communicated with the Russian government in the course of this campaign, what will you do?” Sessions responded: “Senator Franken, I’m not aware of any of those activities. I have been called a surrogate at a time or two in that campaign and I didn’t have—did not have communications with the Russians, and I’m unable to comment on it.”

But George Papadopoulos’s guilty plea indicates that there were attempts in the Trump campaign to arrange a meeting with Putin, and that Sessions was aware of them. As CNN reports this morning, “The chairman of Trump’s national security team, then Alabama Senator and now Attorney General Jeff Sessions, shut down the idea of a Putin meeting at the March 31, 2016, gathering, according to the source. His reaction was confirmed with another source who had discussed Sessions’s role.”

The good news for Sessions is that he can plausibly claim to have opposed any Russian collusion. The bad news is that, in making those claims, he opens himself up to charges of perjury.

    https://newrepublic.com/minutes/145614/looks-like-jeff-sessions-perjured-himself

and it’s not the first time either – he told other lies under oath to Congress during his confirmation hearings, denying any communications with Russian operatives, when in fact he met with the Russian ambassador twice during the campaign.

Remember trump’s tweet? “Sessions is an honest man.He did not say anything wrong. It is a total witch hunt!”

the Papadopoulos flip appears to be gathering momentum.

Papadopoulos was praised by at least two Trump campaign officials – Manafort and Sam Clovis (trump’s Department of Agriculture top science advisor although he has no science qualifications) – for attempting to set up a meeting between the campaign and Russian officials.

Clovis was the campaign official who encouraged Papadopoulos to take the meeting with the Kremlin-connected emissary in Russia. “Make the trip, if it is feasible,” Clovis wrote Papadopoulos via email in August.
    https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/trump-campaign-adviser-pleaded-guilty-to-lying-about-russian-contacts/2017/10/30/d525e712-bd7d-11e7-97d9-bdab5a0ab381_story.html?utm_term=.265e2b728ab4

It now emerges that Clovis has likely flipped as well. Clovis was interviewed by Mueller last week and is said to be a “fully cooperative witness” in the Senate Russia probe as well.
    https://www.politico.com/story/2017/10/31/sam-clovis-senate-russia-investigation-244370

It’s clear that several trump campaign officials (Manafort, Papadopoulos, Clovis, Lewandowski, Kushner, Trump Jr.) were aware that Russia was offering “dirt” on Clinton and acted on that knowledge. It also seems increasingly likely that trump’s team, which repeatedly denied Russian involvement in the 2016 election, was aware of Russian involvement long before the public at large.

Fun fact: Sam Clovis’s lawyer, Victoria Toensing, is also the lawyer pushing the Uranium One stuff.

Do National know they lost? (alt: Do National know they lost ?)

“The bigger problem for National is this: ordinarily you’d say they’ve got three years to work this out, while the new government is busy finding the caucus rooms and pathfinding to their offices in the Escherian nightmare that is the Beehive.

But this is an activist government which is already rolling out strong policies and re-writing the story on employment relations, justice, education, and health, the very purpose of government and its relationship to people. And National is offering no serious critique, no alternative narrative, no vision (admittedly it would have been miraculous for them to find one between election day and now.) Add to that: voters like to back winners. Add to that: National has tapped all its possible reserves of support, sucking every other rightwing party dry. It has nowhere to go but down.”

I suppose that’s all they can do, Alan, given that they’ve lost all power now; waiting, waiting, waiting…

Here comes another, Robert. Labour bins another necessary Auckland motorway link in favour of wasting money on light rail fantasies – as if anyone heading from the SE suburbs to the NW is going to be travelling by rail. All of these stupidities will come back to bite you – and they’ll be coming thick and fast for the next year or so.
