Call for China’s local influence to be curbed

One brave woman is almost enough to restore one’s faith in academia. I will be watching her journey with interest
However I fear her concerns will fall on deaf ears …our current crop of politicians are such a lily livered lot

“A prominent academic is urging the new Government to direct the Security and Intelligence Services to investigate China’s local activities.
University of Canterbury professor Anne-Marie Brady, internationally-recognised for her work translating China’s propaganda campaigns, made the call for New Zealand to follow Australia’s lead in a policy brief published today”

Probably to late to call in GCSB.
That great hero Snowden released the phone numbers and addresses of all the Five Eyes intelligence analysts in an act great bravery some years ago.

Cindy, Princess, Cinderella and Belligerent Little Prick are cool names, I reckon. The others are crap.

But why are you mentioning this? When National was in power, I read worse on this blog, The Standard and other places I can’t remember.

Have your liberal sensibilities been offended?

Not offended in any way. Mentioning it because the pettiness and childishness struck me. A couple of weeks into Ardern’s tenure I suppose the anger and upset levels are high. I presume the posters are adults who think they have the intelligent answers for better ways for the country and world.

I can remember ‘DonKey’ but not the ‘worse’ ones about the previous lot. What were the again?

          Dirty little jonky
          Mr Smile & Wave
          Honest John

I like Jacinderella, I think it’s suitably fairy-tale-ish. Hers is a fairy-tale Prime Ministership. I’m expecting magic, for sure. There’s already been some – he’s enchanted the drunken dwarf, for starters. And defeated the Mighty National Party.

H1 was the only moniker that wasn’t too scared to stick to this one

I always wondered; was his son’s name “Max” or was it “Maxwell”, shortened to “Max”, “Max” being the diminutive?
