For those who like their music heavy and loud, sung by a beautiful woman.

“Its hard to light a candle, easy to curse the dark instead”

Epic!! Symphonic Heavy Metal with a hint of Thrash.
Finish people eh! Much to be admired there.

One of my Nightwish faves, a classy track:

The use of contrasting male vocals works well on this one

Almost meatloaf like. Prefer Floor Jansen over Tarja Turunen as vocalist.

Floor Jansen has more versatility in terms of the number of vocal styles she can cover; my preference for the classic lineup is probably just down to familiarity.

I have the latest version of Firefox, and by default it won’t let me see up and down votes. Not vitally important (sometimes I wonder if the site would be better off without them) but I feel like I’m missing out on something. Anyone able to help this cave dweller to remedy this?

    • Do you use a PC or tablet/phone?

Never mind. Research indicates that this is a characteristic of the new Firefox release; some functionality has been dumped in favour of greater speed, I’ll have to dump it.

        Oh that’s weird.

        • I stopped using Firefox after many years because it seemed to have gone down in quality, was forever ‘not responding’ so that I spent more time waiting for it to do so than actually doing anything on the computer and was generally nothing like so good as it was.It was useless, really. New versions were no better. I now use Google Chrome.

Yes, sometimes I am naive enough to expect newer versions of software to be improved!

Bugger, bugger, bugger, I stupidly believed Microsoft who suggested that the computer be refreshed and….well, hours later, I am finally able to do some things. Chrome and Firefox were gone and I couldn’t even get at google…what a performance. After a system restore, Chrome and Mozilla were shown in the removed apps, so I have recovered Mozilla. Chrome’s download hasn’t worked. but anything’s better than nothing.

Mozilla does seem to have improved (seems-I don’t want to tempt fate) but I’d really like to have Chrome back and will keep trying to download it…

Trust us, we’re Microsoft-of course we know what we’re doing !

Do you remember the Outlook/Hotmail debacle when ???? thousands worldwide were locked out out of their email because Microsoft were being ‘overprotective’ ?

They would send a code to another email. The codes were 6 digits (some were 5, I think) The mug would try to use the code. The code was always one digit short and so was not accepted. By way of variety, they would send instructions on how to make the email accessible again…to that email address. This was like keeping the spare key inside the house. There were a few other things, but those are the ones I remember from when it happened to my old man who went to Gmail after that.

Oh, they would ask people for the email addresses of the 5 (at least) emails sent by them as proof that the email account was theirs.
