“Venezuela is negotiating with its international creditors how to restructure the repayment of $60 billion.

But despite the ongoing debt talks, analysts do not see strong reassurances that Venezuela will honor its financial commitments, even if its creditors are in a generous mood.

“It’s going to be one of the messiest defaults ever,” Bill Blain, head of capital markets and alternative assets at Mint Partners, told CNBC via email.”

Don’t worry Blazer we voted in the same mob here

Yes, well, if that’s true, at least I can buy a loaf of bread. And of course, the government had to keep people in the lifestyle they had become accustomed to. Darn horrid uncaring Tories.

The rate this govt is back-peddling on election promises they may as well ask National to run the country for them.

Why? If they’re just going to do what National did and call it something else they may as well stay put and keep doing it – surely?

Not if they keep ballsing it up like they are. They are simultaneously changing nothing and creating uncertainty – a fine feat!
Also, National were actually going to change things up..
Although I have to say the comedy value is high with this Government so far.

It was a tongue in cheek remark H. Obviously. They’re not impressing at all, I have to say. The backpedalling is jaw-dropping.

Still, it’s good comedy & so far the only real damage Jacinda has done is to pissoff the Aussies & I reckon most kiwis off over the Manus Island shambles. They don’t mind taking a manageable number of genuine, honest refugees – but they don’t want a bar of this dodgy lot. Only a feckin ignorant dreamer would. Should’ve let sleeping dogs lie there!

Even Aljazeera – a media outlet sympathetic to Muslim refugees from anywhere – reported concerns about the background & behaviour of some of these guys, and the suspicion they were hamming it up big time to try & get Courts to let them in to Oz.

I’m with Corky. The next round of polls should be very interesting.

I never take you seriously Gezza. Especially when you’re being serious. 🙂

Probably wise H. Dunno whether to frown or smile – done both just to cover all bases.

Sometimes I’m quite surprised myself to see what I’ve posted when it appears. Then I have to figure out whether I agree with it or not.

I only ever uptick my own comments if
              1) nobody else has, and
              2) I actually agree with it.

              Hope this helps.
