Aljazeera tv reports that six Saudi Princes had to be hospitalised after being badly beaten up, following their recent arrest in the Crown Prince’s ‘anti-corruption drive’. Also, that they were informed they would be freed if they each surrendered 70% of their wealth! If it’s true, that’s some nice friends you have there, Trumpy. Building their Caliphate ….

Despite passing the self-imposed deadline the German coalition talks are continuing into the weekend. The UK media are only just starting to report (albeit lightly) on this as they realise the talks could break down forcing a snap election next year.

It was originally reported that the sticking point was related to capping migration, however, that seems to be a simplistic view of it. There are a number of areas of disagreement in the talks including tax and climate change alongside migration issues. The main migration issue seems to be the family reunion for the Syrian migrants in the country. The Greens want to allow all of the families of those in Germany to join them, Merkel (being aware of the threat to her party by AfD) is more cautious about allowing whole families in the country.

If an agreement can’t be reached many are predicting it will spell the end for Merkel as Chancellor regardless of how her party does in any snap election, it is expected she will be rolled as leader.

Someone dumped a load of stone (under house foundation) in the gutter near – me near where some Chinese are building a house.
Chinese bus drivers are reported to not move up when asked politely (“I’m leaving in 10 minutes” – I’ll move off when I want to but I wont move up).
