The Pae Pae, Robert? How culturally correct of you. Still peddling yesterdays news. Why not worry about the present?

A convicted Bosnian war criminal committed suicide in the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia when his appeal was rejected and his 20 year jail sentence was upheld.

How well the left have deflected the actual issue. The main issue (from what I have seen) is not that she was on the defence team of a war criminal accused of genocide, but rather that there is a perception she tried to (at best) gloss over it or (at worst) cover it up. Good to see all the lefty’s have come out and decided it is about her being on the defence team and deflect the issue with help from the media.

Now in the scheme of things I think this should have been a one day wonder story, she – and the Greens – come out, put their hands up to a bit of fudging on her official info, and that would be the end of it, but because of the left’s attempts at the deflection and accusations that the right don’t agree in the principle of justic,e (a bit laughable when it is the left that want to throw that out for certain male on female crimes – but I digress), this story has gone on longer than it should have. If only the media, and lefty activists, had just ignored it instead of trying to bend over backwards to explain her position.

No-one to blame but the lefty idiots trying to protect the poor women MP being unfairly bullied (and yes I have seen some try to attribute this to sexism and misogyny).

please tell me exactly what she had to…’cover up’?

           /  November 30, 2017

Please tell me where I said she had anything to cover up?

you seem to be having that problem with your reading comprehension again.

‘ is not that she was on the defence team of a war criminal accused of genocide, but rather that there is a perception she tried to (at best) gloss over it or (at worst) cover it up’

              And?

I didn’t say she had anything to cover up, I said that there was a perception she had tried to cover up that she had worked on the defence of a war criminal.

Try improving that reading comprehension Blazer.

While the mob members might try improving that “perception” …

            • Missy

               /  November 30, 2017

PartisanZ why should the ‘mob members’ have to improve their perception? The Greens fudged her bio and then spent days deflecting without putting their hand up, their actions created the perception of them trying to cover up an inconvenient fact. It is not up to the public to correct their perception it is up to the Politicians to be upfront when caught out – or preferably at the beginning. It looks like they were either ashamed of her defence work or trying to create a backstory that suited them.

@Missy – ” … it is up to the Politicians to be upfront when caught out – or preferably at the beginning”

              Really, like politicians always do?

This really is a storm in a teacup IMHO, compared to almost any of the long, long list of errors-of-judgement survived by various members of the previous government … from Bill’s rental house through Judith’s Chinese company shareholdings to even John’s ponytail fetish … because behind all the media hype and BS (and, interestingly, mob defense) those people manifestly did something wrong …

Behind this round of hype, BS and mob attack Golriz Ghahraman manifestly did something right …

Perception is everything, Lurchy. It’s about making a mountain out of a mole hill. And guess who is to blame? Why Lefties, as Missy stated. They were snagged hook, line and non story. Not the brightest, this government.

The rabid right just cannot let go of the bone,Mr Farrars kiwiblog has a rehash of yesterday’s post on the pretty bright doe eyed green MP calling on her to go again and his inmates are baying in response 9 more years of this petty bone chasing is going to be tiring

Enjoy that image Lurcher, it is actually the picture of a glove trying to be fitted to “the other foot” … or Chinese ‘Conflict of Interest’ Judith Collins’ shoe trying to be forced to fit Golriz Ghahraman’s Defence Lawyer elbow …

         /  November 30, 2017

No, Lurchy. This government is finished before it started. MSM, social media and the Nats are seeing to that. You wanted the Tories whipped and relegated to opposition. You have your wish. You weren’t careful what you wished for.

Bit of a strawman lurcher, no mention of a pretty determined policy by both Miss Ghahraman and the media,to at best gloss over, her real role in defending mass murderers.
The pictures of her mixing with these swine is the icing on the cake.

If it’s not to be victors justice, some one has to be on the defence team in any trial, that’s how civilization works but probably not in the right wing world…

    • PartisanZ

       /  November 30, 2017

So Ray, are you saying that the very media who reported it, because of whom we know about it at all, are actually “glossing it over” …?

Isn’t that a bit like saying the Washington Post tried to cover up Watergate?

      • Ray

         /  November 30, 2017

PartisanZ I think the media did a good job ignoring it (especially Kirsty Johnson Herald hack and exGreen media person had the real story pre-Election but it didn’t make the paper) Paul Quin blew the whistle but as I said the media only got onto it when the Lefty defence spoke out.

I’m with Kirsty Johnston on this one, for one simple reason: There is no “real story”!

Paul Quin’s apologized and I predict his actions will impact on his future.

Genocide denier FFS … give me a break!

China’s 50 cent army and Western misunderstanding of the Chinese way of censoring internet use. Pure genius.

On this point. I posted a clip once of two westerners talking about the intricacies of living in China; what Westerners could or couldn’t do. How Westerners are discriminated against etc. What I couldn’t understand was why they had this conversation riding motorbikes through the Chinese country side using blue tooth for communications. Duh, to limit possible monitoring, either human or electronic, and to keep from becoming a static target.

I’m still waiting for somebody – anybody, really – to provide a plausible-sounding excuse for why the Terrace Tunnel is only 3 lanes. If somebody ever does, I’ll know whether it’s true or not by checking whether the words “short-sighted”, “incompetent” & “stupid” are included in their announcement. Meantime I’ll continue to avoid peak traffic times – & going into Wellington City generally – if what I want or need can be obtained in Porirua City.

           /  November 30, 2017

It’s how NZ road funding and planning works Gezza –

          – Commission report to determine current roading needs
          – Spend 10 years arguing, delaying and obtaining consent
          – Spend 5 years building and overspending budget by a minimum 50% due to inflation

Et Voila! A brand new road ready to take on the traffic needs of 15 years ago!

          Rinse and repeat.

Why does Chris Trotters wiki bio states that he is a NZ Politician, was he ever in parliament???

    • His blog bio:
Known principally for his weekly political columns and his commentaries on radio and television, Chris Trotter has spent most of his adult life either engaging in or writing about politics. He was the founding editor of The New Zealand Political Review (1992-2005) and in 2007 authored No Left Turn, a political history of New Zealand. Living in Auckland with his wife and daughter, Chris describes himself as an “Old New Zealander” – i.e. someone who remembers what the country was like before Rogernomics.
