Wikipedia: “Recording of “Waiting on a Friend” (as ‘Waiting for a Friend’) began in late 1972 through early 1973 in Kingston, Jamaica, during the Goats Head Soup sessions when the band still had Mick Taylor as a member. His guitar piece made it to the overdubbing sessions in April 1981 when the song was selected by Tattoo You producer Chris Kimsey as one the band could re-work for the album.”

“The video, directed by Michael Lindsay-Hogg (who also directed their 1968 special The Rolling Stones Rock and Roll Circus), became very popular on MTV. Matching the song’s lyrics, Jagger is seen waiting for Keith Richards in the doorway of an apartment block. The building, at 96-98 St. Mark’s Place in Manhattan, is notable for appearing on the cover of Led Zeppelin’s 1975 album Physical Graffiti.”

I’ve just become a mummy (by adoption) to a Pekin duckling. Where the little creature came from, I’m not too sure… but obviously isn’t the offspring of the Mallards that have been hanging about.
Little Pekin just appeared in my garden pond last Friday morning….. for the first few days he/she couldn’t clamber over the lip of the pond, and could safely retreat to the deep part of the pond if my cats came prowling.
However 2 days ago, Pekin got out of the pond and settled down on the driveway close by Daisy & Donald….. My cats were very interested… so I had to chase Pekin back to the pond.
I spent a restless night worrying that the feral cats and stray dogs would get little Pekin, so yesterday I shelled out $300 for a large dog training cage to enclose Pekin in at night time.

I’ve never kept a domestic duck before… so not too sure whether I’m feeding it enough/or correctly…..
    Any advice, anyone?

Hey Maggie At first I thought it read Peking Duck, a dead duck!?.
But on further reading I got the right one. Lucky you.A visitor of the most beautiful sort.
and you may have Duck Eggs. Yummi! in the cake mixture. and of course there’s always a simple lip smacking solution to the death of said Pekin.
Great idea with the dog cage. Go on line to see what you need to feed Pekin and good luck with the potty training. 😎
KUIp = keep us informed pleze.

The ordinary ducks may have had a Peking Duck postman who had a roving eye; some duckesses may have had a bit of explaining to do..

Someone released two white dux into a pond near me, and the result has been some very interesting colour combinations-like the grubby looking pigeons who are obviously the children of the white ones and grey partners.

        Heavens it is HOT.
