Comments worth more exposure may be repeated as posts.Comments from other forums can be repeated here, cut and paste is fine.

Your NZ is a mostly political and social issues blog but not limited to that, and views from anywhere on the political spectrum are welcome. Some ground rules:

  • If possible support arguments, news, points or opinions with links to sources and facts.
  • Please don’t post anything illegal, potentially defamatory or abusive.

FIRST TIME COMMENTERS: Due to abuse by a few first comments under any ID will park in moderation until released (as soon as possible but it can sometimes take a while).

Sometimes comments will go into moderation or spam automatically due to mistyped ID, too many links (>4), or trigger text or other at risk criteria.

Free speech is an important principle here but some people who might pose a risk to the site will have to keep going through moderation due to abuses by a small number of malicious people.

He does indeed have a very good opinion of himself. I’m glad that I am not Mrs T or one of his children-how shaming for them.

I was told that ‘self-praise is no recommendation.’

And it’s a lie that he won the first time he tried to be President; he failed in an attempt 16 years ago, I had forgotten-and don’t remember it even now that I have heard it-so he must hope that everyone has. If HE has, that is a worry.

How good of you to admit that you are wrong. Did you google it ?

He stood but withdrew-probably to save himself embarrassment at having so little support.

Being a genius is a matter of IQ, but going on about how clever and successful you are is just showing off. None of the really successful people whom I have known feel the need to tell everyone how clever and successful they are-their lives speak for themselves.

I don’t believe that Trump has a genius IQ, anyway.

I bet that Red ‘Velvet Ears’ doesn’t prance around showing off about his agility wins. His father probably does, but that’s quite understandable, anyone would.

      • Trump is unpresidential, he is a bore, he’s a narcissist; but I do believe that having a book written about you and being told in that book that everyone around you calls you thick, a moron and everything else utterly stupid gives you the right of reply.

There cannot be a man in the world under as much of a mass media attack than he is.

He brings it on himself tho, trav. I can’t think of any other politician who’s made as many false & bullshit, self-aggrandising utterances ever. Even Duterte, who’s pretty bizarre, doesn’t do this.

He wouldn’t be attacked if he didn’t provoke this.

I would guess that if the book was totally fabricated, no publisher would touch it and it would be a “Go Directly to Jail. Do Not Pass Go. Do Not Collect $200.’ card for the writer.

“Because they don’t have enough in-house competencies everything is done by consultants and I’m not sure we necessarily get value for money.”

“At the end of the day we all pay for it.”

Yup. Based on my own experience of an endlessly restructured department, what happens is that managers with no idea what they’re talking about often hire consultants who have no idea what they’re doing.
