Pink gumboots found via Twitter

This story seemed trivial at first glance but it shows how social media can work well (in this case twitter), and how not everyone is a negative attacking troll.

@sacraparental : Oh no! Those tiny pink ones? Oh 😦

@RDiva : Yes the itty bitty pink ones. I have so many pictures of her in them and really wanted to tuck them away for her 21st

@sacraparental : Park in Wellington? Shall I go on a hunt in the morning?

@RDiva : It was the little beach park with playground tucked beside Freyburg pool. Does it have a name? It should. We had a picnic table in the morning sun. I must have left them under it. I am imagining by now they are off on adventures with a new kid.

@GraemeEdgeler : I don’t have the boots, but can provide the name: The Freyberg Beach Playground.

@RDiva

Nooooo seriously??!!!!!
You found them.
At midnight.
I am speechless.

Of course he is serious, it’s
This isn’t a dream, there they are.
More than 12 hours after we were there, you went hunting at midnight.
I am now awake enough to be able to properly say thank you. Thank you 😊

Gumboots are very handy things. I have three grandchildren staying for a few weeks (from Aus) and one of the first things we did was buy them each some gumboots. They get used a lot. Hopefully they will last the distance, they wear down quite quickly when used as trolley brakes.

Gutta-percha – great name for a boot that’s suitable for perching in gutters, should you ever choose to do so.

In Ireland, sandshoes are called gutties-I suppose that they used to have gutta-percha soles.

I have pink gumboots, now rather discoloured, and some printed with roses-the latter were a clearance special, so I decided that I liked that pattern best.

I’m surprised that left-wingers are not up in arms that a little girl should have been given pink gumboots…

I’m surprised that right-wingers aren’t decrying gumboots because wearing them, you can’t pull yourself up by your boot-straps.

Probably she’s a little right winger and exercised choice herself.

She must have left the park in bare feet or just her socks……….child poverty right there.

Right wing parents. Expect her to look after herself.

Left wing parents would have lost the actual child and never realised….
