  3. Stuff: Celebrating our Southlanders: Robert Guyton

I feel distinctly not a Southlander but like many in the southern part of the country have connections there. My mother married a Southlander (second marriage) and has lived in Monowai, Invercargill and Fortrose. A great grandfather was in Bluff for a long time and served on local committees, such as the Education Board and the Southland Rugby Union, and a grandfather was born in Invercargill. I have a number of other more rrrr-ry relations – we used to swap apples for oysters with some.

Poor old bugger. Looks like he could give me 12 years instead of the other way around. Must be a hard life being a Lefty in Southland and on a council full of farmers. Cheers, Robert.

Looks can be deceiving, Alan 🙂 Can you parkour? Yes, staring down the sheepy/cowboys takes effort, but I’m up for it! Thanks for you well-wishes – Robert

Well, they’ll be on a hiding to nowhere. Journalism in the US is really only under “attack” from a loudmouth President who goes berserk on Twitter every day & a lot of it is twaddle.

None of their journos have been arrested & thrown in jail on trumped up charges & their media outlets closed down for constantly calling the POTUS an unstable, demented, lying, nutjob, so far – as far as I know.

There are plenty of countries where that not only happens but some even get shot dead for pissing off their President or their government.
