Waiting in line at the supermarket yesterday, I spied the Woman’s Day front cover.

Mikey and the missus loomed large, while to the side, nearly pushed off the cover, Jacinda and her mate clambered for relevance.

Could this be an omen casting a maleficent shadow over Labour for the coming year? Stay tuned possums.

Talking of Mikey; Mr ”Succinct” is in fine fettle after holidaying in the good ole US of A.

I saw that cover-them grinning like horsecollars. I never read that mag or any like it, but that would have been a total turn-off.

Posted in General chat – not really the place for it, although Westie Bob knows that I think.

So there is a story in the herald about a law student from Tonga who will die if he is sent home due to kidney failure. He arrived on a one month visa so how is he a law student, two days after arrival he was admitted to hospital with end stage kidney failure, yet declared on his visa application that he did not require renal dialyses and doctors say they don’t know why his kidneys failed. He is now here on compassionate grounds. Something doesn’t feel right about the circumstances around this. The herald also had this to say
“The high and growing number of Tongans needing dialysis and its continued unavailability in Tonga makes it unsurprising that some Tongans will look to New Zealand, where many have family members, in the hope of being able to stay alive,”

Not sure on the solution, however I was more concerned with the way the Herald reports things with obvious holes in the story.

Not really in keeping with the purpose of this page. This sort of thing is best posted in Open Forum or Media Watch.

I am not happy with this glitter obsession given its huge damage to the oceans, you glitter your tits purely for attention then you shower and the glitter is washed out to the ocean where filter feeding things get clogged up with it and get sick and then they get eaten by larger prey and so it goes on. You cant flash your tits in glitter and be against plastic packaging its hypocritical and wrong, put your titties away, stop buying glitter and use recyclable shopping bags….unexciting I know but good for the earth and ones self respect.

Why did the journalist not ask one of the 40 boys following the 10 girls with their titties out about glitter pollution ?

The guy who ran up and touched that young woman’s naked puppies was a plonker & it was a sexual assault. Price of exhibitionism is that some young blokes on the piss egged on by mates might do stupid things like that though. March or no march.

And when she punched him on the chest it wasn’t a sexual assault? Curious asymmetry.

From what I remember she slapped him in the head. Did either of these two end up in Court? I can’t remember.

On second thoughts, never mind. I don’t care. Two silly young things encountered each other & it all got ridiculous. Now the girl’s raising her profile again.

The comments don’t lend much support to your thesis, Lurch.
