FIRST TIME COMMENTERS: Due to abuse by a few first comments under any ID will park in moderation until released (as soon as possible but it can sometimes take a while).

Sometimes comments will go into moderation or spam automatically due to mistyped ID, too many links (>4), or trigger text or other at risk criteria.

Free speech is an important principle here but some people who might pose a risk to the site will have to keep going through moderation due to abuses by a small number of malicious people.

Hardly. What a distortion of the facts-what a surprise that it was.

The Herald also had a story about teenagers eating laundry detergent for a dare, which has made many ill and killed some. The Tide pods are shiny coloured plastic and supposedly look like sweets, but now have the world’s bitterest substance in them to save these morons from themselves. It hasn’t worked.

Anyone going to the big protest for the doomed charter schools??

This seems to be today’s NZME newstalkZB theme, mentioned in every news bulletin

Unfortunately I’m picking a small gathering, with people who should be there, not being there. Still, you never know.

Mummy Labour knows what’s best, dears. People just imagine that they do. Silly them.

It seemed a biggish one to me, especially as it was dismal weather.

The Vanguard pupils, past and present, are a good advertisement for it.

Chris H, of course, trying to make it seem as if they all had it wrong. Nice try.

Rent-a-crowd, to quote John Key, Bill English, Steven Joyce et al.

To quote a cliche, you mean. Those people didn’t look like rent-a-crowd to me.

The fine line between pleasure and pain has nothing on the fine line between legal and illegal, moral and immoral, right and wrong.

Poor old Blazer, it seems that he is eaten up with envy of ‘the rich’. I wonder if he enjoys what he has or can’t because other people have more ?

Methinks ye folks who constantly accuse others of “envy of the rich” … ye protest too much …

Well, Blazer makes his envy abundantly clear ! He certainly seems to be reluctant to think that people actually earn it and don’t have it because of luck or graft.

I don’t envy rich people-imagine being Melania Trump with all those things that she had to sleep with Donald Trump to get. No, thank you. I have two good diamond rings and don’t envy other people theirs. Material possessions are not of such importance that I’d waste my time being jealous of people who have them.

The Omarama Country Cafe now owned by Chinese. Not that it matters; only racists think it matters. As Sacha on Public Address commented: “You have to accept that who us is changes “.
Then again people (Jim Bolger etc) who sold out to foreigners used to be hung drawn and quartered.

They might be people whose ancestors came here generations ago.

I don’t give a damn who owns a cafe as long as it sells good coffee.

They may be people who were here generations ago but that is (On probability) not likely. I do give a dam about ethnic replacement withoit benefit to all but a few.

Liberal society ends up dissapearing up its own backside.

Any cafe could be said to do that if there are only a few people running it. What difference does it make if the owners are immigrants or if their family arrived in the early c. 19 ? What if my parents had bought a cafe ? They arrived in NZ as adults.
